After completing the tutorial inSynduality: Echo of Ada, you are given a Cradlecoffin and are given the chance to create a personal magus to assist you. This is a permanent companion throughout the game, unlike your mech, so you better ensure they’re exactly as you want them.
Beyond talking to you and offering advice, Magus have powerful abilities that help you during your sorties, as well as offering some much needed dialogue in a game otherwise devoid of it. Many of your choices with them are locked in early on, so make sure you don’t make any mistakes in their creation.

Choosing A Magus Type
From the moment the Magus Creator opens up, you are offered the option of four different Magus models to choose from. While these may seem purely visual, the description for each model is actually quite relevant. Each Magus is voiced, and have distinct personalitiesthat are not interchangable.
Here’s each of them:
Magus are also divided between α and β types. The type of each Magus is pre-set and cannot be changed. Clothing can later be customised on your Magus, and many of these are also restricted across type. Keep this in mind when choosing your Magus, as model cannot be changed later.
Despite the personality and type being pre-set,you can freely change their look to quite a fine degree. There are plentiful hairstyles and skin tones, and height and other features are all freely customisable. Visually, there is a large degree of freedom in making your Magus. The personality and type are actually the most distinct parts to them when it comes to making a choice.
Magus Systems
After choosing your Magus Model, you are presented with the option to choose their System. This determines the skills that your Magus comes with, and these also cannot be changed after confirming your choice, so choose carefully. Here is each System you’re able to choose from, as well as its active and passive skills:
Shade Shield
Weather Radar
Can detect AO crystals over a wider range and show their purity.
Reduce Grenade Damage
Can show the inventory of scanned Cradlecoffins.
Each System has its own benefits and pitfalls, though the Anti-Systems tend to be the weakest in general. They provide no bonus skills the other three Systems do, and their offensive-focused Magus Skills tend to be less effective than the defense-focused ones.
While being able to see the HP of enemies is very helpful, you will in time get used to the average HP they haveand will be able to manage without it.
Can You Change Your Magus After Completing Them?
After exiting the Magus Creator screen, your Magus will be complete and ready to accompany you on missions. At this point, many aspects of them are locked in place. There are a small few options you may still changethough, which are the following:
Anything that you could reasonably and easily change in reality can still be changed on your Magus.Everything else is locked behind a Remake Ticket. These items let you go back to change your visual appearance, System and other aspects. Remake Tickets are exceptionally rare though, primarily earned through the Drifter Pass or completing Requests. There is no guaranteed way to get them other than buying them from the microtransaction store.
Even with a Remake Ticket, you cannot change your Magus model.
How To Get New Magus
After you create your Magus, plenty of it is still free to be changed, either freely or with a Remake Ticket. The model type is always locked though. If you start the game with Locke and want to change to Grau, then your only option is to get a Magus Reproduction Ticket.
Like Remake Tickets, these are by very specific means, though they are much rarer and more precise. Initially, you can choose from four different Magus models, though more exist, and even more being added over time.Magus Reproduction Tickets exist for individual Magus models, rather than a ticket letting you get whatever Magus you want.
For example, there is a single Magus Reproduction Ticket thatlets you choose any of the four original models. There are also two Magus models,Mystere and Noir. These both have individual Magus Production Tickets that give you no choice on which Magus you can get. Beyond these tickets, there is no other way of getting new Magus. And like Remake Tickets, they can also be bought directly from the microtransaction store.
You are guaranteed a Magus Production Ticket for another of the original four Magus modelsafter completing the Class B Drifter’s License Requestand unlocking the Southern Zone.
