When you first start playingAvowed, you enter The Living Lands as a Godlike looking for a way to quash the plague spreading in the empire. However, this feat will be much harder than anticipated as you slowly uncover the secrets behind each area you visit.
Shatterscarpwill be the third main region on your path, and you’ll find the Face Your Fears main quest here. While this quest doesn’t involve an important choice, it does require you to solve a few puzzles to meet Archmage Ryngrim.
How To Unlock Face Your Fears Quest
As mentioned, Face Your Fears is a main quest that you’re bound to encounter on your journey after progressing to a certain point. To get it,you first have to reach the Shatterscarp regionafter witnessing thefate of Fior Mes Ivernoin Emerald Stairs.
Once you reach this region, make your way to the Thirdborn city on the southern side where you cantalk to the mayor of the city and then recruit Yatzli right after. Once she’s recruited, you’ll be asked to go to Ryngrim’s Domain to get an audience with her, which is what this quest is about.
How To Find Ryngrim’s Domain
The first part of the Face Your Fears quest asks you to find Ryngrim’s Domain somewhere in the Shark’s Teeth area. This isn’t difficult to find as youhave a bunch of ice engulfing the area around her domain. You can easily see it on the northeastern side of Shark’s Teeth.
Once you enter the area, you’re able to first take the path on the left to reach Tago’s Tower and then go all the way to the right from it. You’llfind the entrance to her domain guarded by a few of her skeletons. Defeat these enemies and enter the domain for the main part of the quest.
How To Beat Ryngrim’s Domain
After entering the icy domain, go forward a bit and then follow the path on your left. This will open into a bigger area with the storm blocking your vision, butyou simply have to keep moving toward the markerwhile staying on the left side. This will allow you to find the Strangely-Marked Xaurip Spear on the way.
As you get to the end of the storm, you’ll find an entrance through the cave. Keep following the illusions in this cave to reach the main area whereyou’ll first have to defeat a few enemies and then interact with the statue in the middle. You’ll then be asked to find three items to complete the statue.
Heart Of The Statue Location
To get the heart, take the left stairs leading up in the direction where the statue is facing. You’ll find aburnable wall on the right sidewith a slide beyond it that leads you deeper. You can follow the straight path in this cave to reach the heart.
You’ll be battling a ton of different enemies on the way here so it’s important to be prepared. At some point, you’llhave to use Yatzli’s ability to break an illusion and then jump through the tiny gapto reach the heart.
The second piece can be found by taking theright stairs leading up where the statue is facing and breaking the burnable wallthere. After going forward for a bit, you can follow the lower path on the left. Break the illusion at the end here and you’ll enter some water.
In these waters, take theright hole to get a golden chest and the left upper one to move forward. The path leading to the head is straightforward from here but you’ll have to defeat some strong enemies. At the end, talk to the NPC and tell him that you’re taking the head, and then you can pick it up.
Hand Of The Statue Location
The path to the final piece can be found on the right side of the statue behind it. This is the simplest piece to getas you just have to follow the main path and defeat a few enemieson the way.
After getting all three pieces, you may enter Ryngrim’s room whereyou’ll have a long battle with a ton of high-tier enemies. Once you defeat them, she’ll give you the means to remove the illusions on Naku Kubel and Face Your Fears quest will come to an end.
