Smite 2can be a lot of fun in any role, but Junglers have possibly the most exhilarating job of all. The Jungle in Smite, and in most MOBAs, is located between the lanes. Enemies inside are hostile to both teams, but some of those enemies drop buffs that extend to everyone on the team that defeats them.

The Junglers job is to level up by defeating these enemies, gain buffs for their team in the Jungle, keep the enemy teams' Jungler under control, and pop into lanes to outnumber enemies when the opportunity arises. It’s a lot to keep track of, giving Junglers a lot to juggle.

Loki stands on a stone pedestal in Smite 2.

Smite 2 is currently in Early Access, meaning any of the information below could become outdated as the game progresses.

How To Play Loki In Smite 2

Lokiis, of course,a Junglerin Smite 2. Every Jungler accomplishes their job in slightly different ways; inLoki’s case, he ispossibly the hardest Jungler to keep track offor the enemy team. When he does appear, he’scapable of dishing out absurd damagein a very tight amount of time, and it cancreate some real paranoia for his enemies.

Passive Ability: Behind You

Loki’spassive ability,Behind You, is very simple, and makes perfect sense for Loki; hedeals extra damage when he attacks from behind. It is a115 percent increase in damage, which is a noticeable increase, especially once his damage numbers start increasing in the middle and latter half of the match.

How To Get The Most Out Of Behind You

Getting into a position to use this can be difficult in a vacuum. However,Loki’s other abilities can help him with this, and we’ll go over those abilities next.

One thing to note is that the active item Blink Rune can get Loki directly behind enemies with ease. It does have a large cooldown, so be sure you’re going to get value out of it, but it can be helpful, in this regard.

Ability: Vanish

Loki’sVanishabilityturns him invisibleand grants him a35 percent bonus to movement speed. Taking damage while in stealth will temporarily reveal Loki, but theonly way to fully reveal himis with acrowd control (CC) ability, orif Loki enters an enemy defensive area, like the area around an enemy Tower.

This alsogives Loki increased damage on his next attack, whichinflicts a damage-over-time (DoT) effecton the enemy. Loki will be able tostay in stealth for four seconds, and the ability has a 15-second cooldown.

Killing an enemy God resets the cooldown on Vanish, making it easy to finish one enemy God off and get into position to do it again on their ally.

God Aspect: Aspect Of Concealment

Loki’sGod Aspect,Aspect Of Concealment, changes how Vanish works considerably. Instead of giving Loki increased damage on his first attack out of stealth, it willput both Loki and his nearest ally into stealth.

Preference for this is going to be entirely dependent on teamwork. If Loki has allieshe’scoordinating withregularly, thenthis God Aspect can be beneficial, putting 40 percent of your team into stealth and taking advantageous positions. Butfor a Loki who’s primarily going to be operating solo, he may wish toforego this God Aspectfor the DoT effect that he gains without it.

Ability: Agonizing Visions

Loki’sAgonizing Visionsability is anarea-of-attack (AoE)ability, dealing repeated damageto enemies in the area while it’s active. On top of the damage, this abilityblinds enemies, making it difficult for them to see anything outside extremely close range.

Loki’s passive ability, Behind You, functions on blinded enemies, regardless of which direction Loki is attacking them from.

How To Get The Most Out Of Agonizing Visions

Agonizing Visions is an easy ability to get consistent use from.

The rotation for a fight with an enemy God would go Agonizing Visions > Vanish > Basic Attacks. Agonizing Visions would damage the enemy while they’re inside the area, and blind the enemy. Vanish wouldn’t be helpful for the stealth effect, but the DoT effect that it causes would add further damage to the engagement, and his Basic Attacks would be dealing 115 percent extra damage due to his passive, regardless of Loki’s attack angle.

Ability: Flurry Strike

Loki’sFlurry Strikeabilitydeals damage repeatedly in a conein front of him. Thefinal hitof the attackdeals increased damage, andevery hitinflicts a slowing effecton enemies.

Damage from Flurry Strike does increase with Loki’s Behind You passive ability.

Ultimate Ability: Assassinate

Assassinateis Loki’s ultimate ability, teleporting himto a location toattack an enemy twice. Both attacksdeal heavy damage; thefirst attackalsocripples enemiesin the area, while thesecond attack stuns them.

How To Get The Most Out Of Assassinate

Assassinateis a perfect way for Loki toclose a gap on an enemywithout them being able to counter it. The bonuscrippleandstun effectsensure that the enemy isnot going to make their way out of the situationquickly, andalmost guarantee a successful ambushon the part of Loki.

When possible, always attempt to teleport behind an enemy with this ability. It will increase the damage of the attacks considerably, with most enemies unable to swivel around and prevent that extra damage, at least on the first attack.
