What Are The Assault Class Changes?

Last Season, Season 23, was the “Season of Supports”, andnow it’s the Assault Class’s turnwith a revamp of their Class Perks.Apart from this, many of the Assault Legends have seen a great buff this Season, so they’re more than viable for you to try out. And if you’re already a main of one of these, rejoice! This Season will be especially fun for you.

New Assault Class Perks

Apart from the Perk that was already here beforehand, two more have been added, and so the current Assault Class Perks are as follows:

To break these down further, essentially, combat has been made far easier for Assault Legends, which is their role anyway. When in a fight, upon breaking shields, your reloads become far faster, and you get a slight movement speed increase.

The Assault Class Perks, as seen when inspecting Legend abilities, in Apex Legends.

The reload speeds are additive, however, so getting a Boosted Loader Hop-up makesreloads very close to instant. This is especially useful on the Eva-8, for example. All enemies around you arehighlighted through wallsas well, for a short period.

You have two extra slots for Ordnances(grenades) and the same Perk from before to openWeapon Supply Bins and stackadditional Ammo in each slot.

Two bonus slots for Ordnances exclusive to Assault Class Legends, in Apex Legends.

Arguably better than Battle Surge, however, is Stowed Reload. You essentially havea golden magazine on any weapon you pick up, permanently(without the magazine size increase), as it will automatically reload afterthree seconds of being stowed. In many situations, this means younever have to reload.

Assault Legends Buffed

The madness doesn’t stop there though, as two Legends in particular have seen anincredible buff this Season: those beingAsh and Ballistic, and a minor buff was given toMad Maggie.

The Buff

Ash

Ash gained amidair dashand new level-up Upgrades, among which you’re able to gaina second dash charge. This dash makes hermore mobile than most Skirmishers, and she still has the Ultimate Ability, which can now havetwo charges as wellif you’re Evo 2, each of which has a greatly boosted range.

This, paired with the Assault Class changes, makes Ash sit atop tier lists and her pick rates are higher than ever.

Ballistic

Ballistic, on the other hand, hasn’t been viable for very long, which is changing this season. Changes to him includetwice the amount of charges on his Tactical Ability, with increased damage, the Sling being capable ofholding Care Package Weapons(which do get infinite ammo when using the Ultimate), and, by default, the weapon in the Sling will gainattachments based on your Evo Level.

Mad Maggie also nowdestroys Gibby’s Bubbleandcan destroy Newcastle’s Ultimate.

How To Play Assault Legends

Assault Legends are nowmade for combat. Your role is to maintain and win fights whilst controlling the enemy to where they havefar more trouble pulling through; but keep in mind, the popularity of the changes will increase the odds you’re going to go up against a teamwith an Assault Legend on their side, too.

Your main objectives will be the following.

Keep Those Shields Broken

Your main priority is giving your team intel viabreaking shieldsand reloading quickly to decimate each enemy individually first. After this, you can mow them down as they’ll all be low, and quite possibly panicking.

Stash As Many Grenades As You Can

Fuse mains especially, filling out just three slots with grenades and the two bonus ones meansyou’ll haveeight grenades to work with. This lets you control the enemy very easily, and otherwise, the Rampage can become the gorgeous weapon it was always meant to be by filling it up with Thermites.

Land On Weapon Supply Bins

Early game, you can get many attachments that will give you an advantage right away. Don’t look for specific weapons you like, insteadlook for weapons that can benefit the most from the Attachments you just foundin the early game. Once you’re at mid-game, you can look for any weapon you like.

Always Switch Weapons

Empty your weapon, stash it away, anduse your other weapon. Once it’s empty andthe other reloaded, switch back, rinse, and repeat. This will ensure you’re always pushing the enemy away and scaring their socks off. Fear is avery powerful advantageon the battlefield.

These tips can be applied toany Assault Class Legend(except maybe the grenade tip, as it is viable, but Fuse can benefit from it the most), but because of the massive reworks to Ash and Ballistic, we find it important to add a bit to these two as well.

How To Play The New Ash

So, with the new dashes, she can actas a semi-skirmisher. A great tactic we found is totake a shotgun, and thendash around the enemyto confuse them whilst blasting their HP down with volleys of pellets.

Her escape is bigger now,so don’t be afraid to be aggressiveand land as much damage as you can on a single enemy before retreating. Her tactical can be usedto initiate fights, and then anUlt charge can be spent todisengage, without at all needing to rely on your team for help!

Dealing damage just enough to break the enemy’s shield is a good tactic for Assault Legends in Apex Legends.

A counter to this is hard to find, and many Legends haveno choice but to sit there and accept defeat, as they do not have time to get out of the snare before they’re dead.

How To Play The New Ballistic

Upon dropping, get a weapon into the slingimmediately. This will give youat least optics, and some basic attachments, and — well, you already have a great advantage over most enemies around you! And this applies vice versa;do not land close to an enemy Ballistic, as they’ll try to do the same.

Upon engaging, immediatelyhit themwith a smart bullet. Don’t forget to let itlock onto the enemyfirst, so you have no chance of missing it, and you have an immediate advantage.

Stashing as many grenades as possible as an Assault Legends makes for a very fun strategy in Apex Legends.

Finally, your Ultimate is there for whenthe fight has started, and you’re not stuck behind cover healing. The moment you’re not losing the fight, use it, and the fight should beyours for the taking!
