As you explore inAloft, you’ll have experiences where an extra set of hands could help you repair your island or heal the environment. Thankfully, you may use the multiplayer mode to help others or recruit your friends to sail through the skies. But how does it work?
We’ve tested it out for you so you may skip the trouble and go straight to navigating through the clouds on your islands. Whether you join an existing world or host a new one, here’s everything you need to know about Aloft’s multiplayer function! Don’t wait to start building with your friends and pursue the Leviathan.

How Does Multiplayer Work In Aloft?
From the start you canhop into an existing world or start your ownand invite your friends to join. There’s a small process to getting multiplayer up and running, and we’ll walk you through it.
The process is simple if you want tojoin another player’s world, though hosting your own gives youa bit more controlover what goes on. The details about each option is below:
How To Host Multiplayer
From the start menu, select the multiplayer option. Then,opt to host a world. From here, you can choose a name for the server andgenerate a room code. The code is hidden by default, but you canview it by selecting the eyeicon.
If you’re on PC, you canclick the code to copy and paste itto invite your friends!
Select confirm, thenchoose which of your world saves to useas a host. This will set the stage for you and your friends tosail the skies, and determinewhich of your home islands you start off with, if any.
How To Join Multiplayer
If you’d rather join, then select the multiplayer option from the main menu, thenopt to join a world. A list of available servers will appear, and you cansort through them by server region, survival mode, creative mode, and more.
If you have a friend code,enter it in the top right cornerand press join!
Once you join a world, you’llappear on the spawn islandwith yourcurrent character’s gear.Anything you had in yourinventory will travel along with youacross worlds, so make sure toleave whatever you don’t want to bringat home.
What Can You Do In Multiplayer Mode?
When you’re in multiplayer mode, there’s a lot you can do with friends. For starters, you canspawn your personal home islandin the world to use as a vessel, and you cantravel on a friend’s home island together.
You can also build together, though thehost will need to give you permission from the options menubefore you can alter their home.
When building together, you won’t be able to see where your friends are placing objects, so be sure to communicate with them! Luckily, you canbuild objects your friends haven’t discovered yetso they canuse their sketchbooksto unlock new designs.
Working together also makes iteasier to fight against the corruptionon floating islands, and you’re able to divide and conquer tocollect valuable resources.
