Although most of your time inAssassin’s Creed Shadowswill be spent sneaking around as Naoe or tearing through crowds of enemies as Yasuke, that’s not all there is to see and do. After all, love blooms on the battlefield.
Just like the other Assassin’s Creed RPGs, Yasuke and Naoe have someoptional romancesthey can pursue or just simply recruit as an ally. One such person is a teppo wielder named Katshuime. Here’s how to recruit her.

Showdown In Sakamoto
The first time you’ll meet Katsuhime is duringThe Naginata’s assassination questline. She’s the daughter of Shotei and a teppo wielder who will work with you during the final assassination quest. You’ll know she’s a romance optionwhen she talks to Naoe during Showdown in Sakamoto, where you can say, “I like your teppo” if you want to romance her. Otherwise, just chat away.
Once that mission is over and Katsuhime has clearly been set up to become a potential recruit or romance for Naoe, you won’t be able to pursue her quest for a while since it’s level 29. You’ll need to come back when you’ve levelled up a bit.

Where To Meet Katsuhime
Once you’ve finally started reaching Shadows' endgame and aren’t massively underlevelled, you can head over to meet Katsuhime, who can be found south of The Shimmering Fields in Om on top of a massive hill. Katsuhime will be paying respects at a grave and ask you to retrieve some sake from her further down the mountain, which is easily found by Observing.
After bringing the sake back to Katsuhime, chat with her andyou’ll eventually get a romance option for Naoe to say, “It offers time with me”, which hints at their relationship. Otherwise, any option will do and continue the quest forward.

Where To Meet Katsuhime Again
After completing the last mission, you’ll need to go and meet Katsuhime again, this time near Onyu Pass in Wakasa. Head over there and meet with Katsuhime, who has clearly been in a fight. You’ll need to find some signs of a struggle and follow the path to attack some pirates, before another cutscene plays and sets up Katsuhime’s quest.
Once the cutscene ends,Naoe will be able to say, “I do enjoy your company” if you want to further the romance, or simply say “I need your help” if you’re only looking to recruit Katsuhime. Either way, the next mission of the quest will now be there for you.

The Diary Of Lady Rokkaku
Where To Meet With Katsuhime, Yet Again
The next mission of this questlineonce again has you meeting with Katsuhime, who can be found in Ado River Valley in Omi. Head there to find a letter revealing she’s already gone ahead and gotten herself into trouble. You’ll need to quickly head over to Katshuime and rescue herfrom the enemies, who won’t pose much threat as long as you’re decently levelled.
Once you’ve saved Katsuhime and killed Isono Kazumasa, you’ll have tocarry her over to a safe spot that’s marked on the map. Hold B on Xbox or Circle on PS5 to pick her up and then carefully bring her to the spot that’s marked on the map, making sure to kill any enemies in your path.

Getting Katsuhime to safety will finally cause her to trust you and be open to joining your cause.you’re able to choose to either say “No, it won’t work” to reject her or, “Yes, join us”, if you want her on the team. Of course, the latter option makes more sense and also opens up her final romance scene.

How To Romance Katsuhime
The final part of Katsuhime’s quest in Shadows is located in western Sotomo Gate, in Wakasa, right near the top of the map. Head here and chat with Katsuhime, who will make her intentions with Naoe clear. It’s not stated if you needed to choose all the romance options with her to get this mission, as you can simply reject her here.
Since you’ve already recruited Katsuhime at this point, though, let’s assume you do want to romance her.To do this, simply choose, “Let’s find out”, to kick off the romance scene. Once this is done, Katsuhime will ask Naoe how serious she is about them, which lets you choose to say whether you’re already takenor if she’s your one and only with “Yes, forever”.

I’d already romanced Gennojo at this point, so it’s not really clear if there’s a consequence to romancing more than one person. It looks like there isn’t, though, and it’s just some flavour text, as Gennojo wasn’t bothered at all when I next ran into him.
