Some players have managed to stash thousands at a time - those are the folks on leaderboards you often see with rather high scores. While there’s no right or wrong way to play Monopoly Go, we’ve got a few tips to help you start saving up your dice.
At any given time, Monopoly Go does offer a few different stores through which you can purchase additional dice rolls for actual money, both through the game itself and in the Tycoon Club. That said, all the tips in this guide offer cost-free ways to store dice in Monopoly Go.
Earn Free Dice Every Hour (If You’re Below A Threshold)
Especially when you first begin playing Monopoly Go, spending all of your dice to roll around and get started is tempting! From there, the more you play, the more you earn, and Monopoly Go will pretty muchalwaysgive you a reason to want to play. But since you’re able to’t play without dice, you’llearn free dice every hourto keep you stocked up.
That said, these free dice only accumulateuntil you have 200 dice storedin your bank, at which point the game will stop replenishing your dice count like it has been. If you rolled down to zero, this does offer 20 hours of real time before you stop accumulating them again, though.
Above 200 dice in your bank, the game will not generate these additional dice on the hour for you – it’s meant to help folks who played down to zero dice get back into the groove of playing once they come back again.
Collect All Freebies

Complete Sticker Albums
You’ve no doubt noticedall those colorful sticker packsyou’ll earn in tandem with the dice and cash you’re raking in playing Monopoly Go, and you’d do well to pay attention and collect as many of these sticker packs as you can, sincefinishing any sticker album rewards hundreds of free dice.
Each sticker album requires stickers rarer than the one before it, butthe rarer the stickers in the album, the more dice you’ll earn for finishing it. As such, it’s a good idea to not only collect as many free sticker packs as you can while you’re playing Monopoly Go, but you can even work with your friends totrade extraswith one another after receiving duplicate stickers.
Additionally, you’ll earn thousands of free dice rolls for completing every sticker album in any given season, and evenmorefree dice if you manage to do it a second or third time.
Bet On Rolling Doubles In Jail
It’s one of the riskier tricks we’ve seen players mention when trying to save up their dice in Monopoly Go, but it’s not an invalid strategy. Landing on the Go to Jail space will cage your current board token in place, and you’ll have three chances to roll doubles before you’re free. If you don’t, you’ll simply pay for your way out and move on.
But should you roll doubles in that time, you’ll receive plenty of free dice rolls in addition to your freedom! Some players thereforeincrease the dice roll multiplier if they might land on Jail, since a higher multiplier guarantees far more dice should you roll doubles.
For example, if you’re rolling one a singular dice multiplier and you roll two sixes, you’ll receive 12 dice as you leave Jail. But if you were rolling with a 100 multiplier, that 12 dice would multiply as well, and you’d earn 12,000 free dice rolls on the very same spot.
Pair Up With Active Players During Partner Events
You know those players on your friends list whoalwaysseem to have shields when you go to hit them during the Shutdown minigame on the Railroads? The ones who always send you the ten free dice rolls a day for being one of the friends selected from the community chest? Ones who are quick to respond to sticker exchange requests? These are likely the most active players on your friends list.
When it’s time to partner up for partner or team events, keep them in mind and ask them to team up first.Active players naturally participate more in partner/team events, and you’ll no doubt save dice by not having to earn every point your team needs to hit the next milestone! As we mentioned, special events like these require tokens, and you’ll need to roll to earn those – choose a teammate who will split the work with you.
Know When To Stop Playing
Monopoly Go consistently has events going on – when one stops, another typically begins just moments after. Whether it’sthe daily leaderboard tournaments, banner events, special events, and more, you’ll almost never run out of stretch goals when you’re playing.
But just because youcankeep playing along with these events doesn’t mean you alwaysshould. Events are a great way to earn dice, but careless rolls in pursuit of prizes may end up costing you more than you’ll earn back. As such, you’d be wise toknow when to tap out of events. Select Your Dice Roll Multiplier Based On Which Tiles Are Ahead
When you begin to save up a few dice, or you’re near some of the spaces you need to hit for the events you’re playing, it’s tempting toincrease your dice roll multiplier. Monopoly Go only lets you use multipliers relative to your current number of dice, but it’s not a bad idea toconsider it before increasing your multiplier.
This does require playing manually, butauto-rolling consumes more dicesince you’re not pausing after each roll to consider which spaces are up ahead. If there are several tiles that will offer points for the current events in Monopoly Go, then that’s a good time to boost the dice roll multiplier. If the spaces ahead are just regular property tiles, it may be a smart idea to decrease your multiplier instead. You’ll bring in less cash from your rent targets, but you’ll save dice in the process.
A big temptation for players can come from theHigh Roller flash event,the occasional bonus triggerin Monopoly Go that vastly increases the limit on how high a multiplier you can use (as well as removes some of the lower values to make space for said higher ones). Again, keep the spaces ahead in mind before rolling – it’s notnotworth it to play the High Roller event, but you’ll need to be selective about it.
