Dead Railsis currently one of the most popular games onRoblox. Where players take on the role of a survivor in a post-apocalyptic scenario, trying to escape from a variety of special enemies. It’s a game widely appreciated by the community, with frequent updates that add tons of new content.
One of the latest updates introduced a new iconic location: the Laboratory, along with a new boss, Nikola Tesla. This update also brought new weapons, enemies, and mechanics that increase your chances of survival throughout the run, culminating in a final battle against the powerful boss himself.
Nikola Tesla is theentity with the highest health in the gameso far, with a total of5800 HP. His summoning process is reminiscent of the Frankenstein story.
Tesla appears as areanimated being built with werewolf limbs and a human brain, which is contained in a glass jar with the eyes still attached to the brain stem. He has an intimidating and menacing appearance and isone of the strongest enemiesin the game.
Tesladeals 60 damage per hit to an unarmored player. If you arefully armored, each hit will be halved to around30 HP damage.
He has a movement speed twice as fast as you, so running from him is not a viable strategy.
How To Summon Nikola Tesla
Theability to summonthe boss Nikola Teslaisn’t automatic, you musttrigger his appearancemanually bycompleting a hidden ritualduring your run.
The summoning is tied to a specific structure called theTesla Lab, where you’ll need togather materials, survive a deadly storm, and activate an elaborate machineto bring him to life.
Where To Find The Tesla Lab
To summon Nikola Tesla,you’ll need to follow a series of specific steps. During your Dead Rails run, as you progress along the map with your train, either solo or with friends,you may encounter the Tesla Laboratory. This structure canspawn between 20,000–30,000 or 50,000–60,000.
You’ll recognize the lab as ared brick building with windows and a large “Tesla” towerprotruding from the middle of the structure.
Theentrance is located on the sideof the building. Once inside, you’ll find a surgical table, various electronic devices, junk, and valuable items.
Tesla Body Assembly
Inside the laboratory, your task is tofind all the werewolf limbs and place them one by one on the surgical table, assembling Tesla’s body.
You’ll also finda jar containing a brain and two eyes. This is Tesla’s head. The item isvalued at 250,000, which you could sell to purchase supplies, butdoing so would make it impossible to summon Teslafor the final battle.
Powering The Storm
Once you’vefully assembled Nikola Tesla’s bodyon the surgical table,head to the room to the right of the table. Inside, you’ll find a lever connected to a windmill and a charge meter.
You mustactivate the lever to begin a lightning storm, which will gradually power the mechanism. Once the storm is complete,Tesla will be fully summoned. His body will vanish from the table, leaving behind bonds and aspecial weapon called the Electrocutioner.
After pulling the leverto start the lightning storm, around30 to 40 zombiesdressed in lab coats and scientist uniformswill spawn in waves. They will continue to appearuntil the storm has finished charging.
Inside Tesla’s lab, you’ll find lightning rods. These devices redirect the lightning and change the spawn location of the scientist zombies, who will appear in a radius around the rods. You can place these rods outside the building, making it easier to fight the zombies in open areas.
Where And When Tesla Appears
If you’ve reached the lab, assembled Tesla, and survived the lightning storm along with the scientist zombies, then you’ve successfully summoned Nikola Tesla. To confirm that the process was successful, check for two things.
Nikola Tesla does not appear in the lab itself.The lab is just the place where the summoning ritual takes place. This is not the final fight. Theactual boss battle occurs at Kilometer 80, where you must fight to escape the map and complete the game.
When you reachKilometer 80in Dead Rails, you arrive at thefinal bandit fortress, the escape point to win the run. Here, you need toactivate a lever that lowers the escape bridge,which takesfour minutes to fully descend.
Normally, bandits and zombies will spawnand attempt to kill you during this time. However,if you summon Nikola Tesla, he will replace the zombie spawns and appear alongside the bandits, presenting a much more dangerous challenge if you’re not fully prepared.
How To Use The Electrocutioner
After completing the Tesla summoning ritual, you’ll be rewarded with one of themost powerful weaponsin Dead Rails:the Electrocutioner.
This unique firearmcombines deadly damage with an electrifying visual effect,striking enemies with bolts of lightning from the sky. However,its power comes with limitations, including a low ammo count and a need for creative recharging methods.
What The Electrocutioner Does
This is a special and very powerful weapon you receiveafter summoning Nikola Teslain the lab, once the lightning storm ends and the zombie scientists are defeated. Theweapon will appear at the foot of the surgical tablewhere Tesla’s body used to be.
Onlyone weapon will spawn, regardless of how many players are on the server.
The weapon looks likea revolver with Tesla coil modificationsand sci-fi decorations. It deals heavy damage by calling down lightning strikes from the sky to the location you shoot at,hitting multiple enemies at once.
It has acapacity of 20 shots, dealing between450 and 700 damage, and if a bolt hits an enemy’s head, it can dealcritical damage between 1,400 to 1,600.
How To Recharge The Electrocutioner
This weapon is extremely powerful,but it has limited ammo to balance its strength. Fortunately, there are a few differentways to rechargeit during a match:
Strategy
Lightning Rod.
To recharge the weapon this way, you’ll need thenighttime lightning storm event to trigger. During this event,lightning will strike randomly at night,and it’s possible for bolts to hit you and deal critical damage. However, if youplace a lightning rodnearby, it willabsorb the strikes and protect you(though it still damages hostile and neutral mobs like zombies or horses).Drop the weapon next to or directly on the lightning rod andwait for a striketo hit it. This willfully rechargethe weapon.
Holy Water.
Holy Waterin the gameworks like a Molotov cocktail,acting as a throwable item that creates a green flame puddle and summons lightning in the impact zone. For this strategy,drop the Electrocutioneron the ground and thenthrow a Holy Water bottle onto it. After the lightning from the Holy Water effect strikes,the weapon will be recharged.
Crucifix.
Crucifixes are melee weapons that summon lightningwhen they hit a mob. To recharge the weapon this way,drop both the Electrocutioner and the Crucifixon the ground, thenwait for a zombie to walk overthe crucifix.When it’s struck by lightning and killed, the weapon will be recharged.
How To Defeat Nikola Tesla
Nikola Tesla is the boss with thehighest health in the entire game. He can easilytake you down quickly if you’re not wearing armor or if you’re poorly positionedwhen he appears. That’s why it’s best to follow one of the following strategies to increase your chances of survival.
Team Strategy
Play with friends to defeat Tesla. Summoning and fighting him becomes much easier with a coordinated group. Plus,if you die during the battle, the game won’t end immediately.You’ll still win ifat least one teammate survivesuntil the bridge countdown ends.
Turrets And Cannons
Using Snake Oil
Bring backup Snake Oil. Having at leastfour Snake Oil bottles per playeris a good strategy to avoid being overwhelmed by Tesla’s speed and strength.
This healing drinkprovides both health regeneration and increased movement speed,helping you dodge Tesla’s attacks and reposition quickly.
Solo Strategy
If you’re playing solo and reach the final fight after summoning Nikola Tesla,your best bet is to climb onto the rooftops of nearby structures and shoot him from above.
Usethe Rifle, which deals 50 base damageper shot or 100 damage if you land a headshot.
