We’ll let you know what you’ll need to do in order to recruit her to your cause as quickly as possible in both Suikoden 1andSuikoden 2. This guide will also point you in the direction of Hellion, who is the other half of teleportation magic in the first Suikoden title.

Updated Jun 01, 2025 by James Kennedy:I fixed a pretty huge error dealing with how to acquire the Blinking Mirror in Suikoden 2. I want to thank Weda for pointing that mistake out.
How To Unlock Fast Travel In Suikoden 1
As we already indicated in the intro, you’ll need tounlock two charactersin Suikoden 1 to get the full power of fast traveling. We’ll take you through where to snag both Viki and Hellion in the sections below.
Where To Recruit Viki
Whether you are playing Suikoden 1 or Suikoden 2, you’ll need to recruit Viki before you are able to teleport. In Suikoden 1,you’ll encounter Viki on your way to the Great Forest. She’s unmissable, as she’ll appear while you are crossing a bridge. Viki will only provide you with the ability to teleporttolocations, not back to your castle. So, you’ll onlyreallyhave half of the fast travel feature unlocked once you recruit her.
Where To Recruit Hellion And Acquire The Blinking Mirror
After you’ve worked throughthe section involving the elves and dwarves, and havedefeated General Kawanda, the section of the world map that is west of the Castle Toran area will open up. Once you are able to cross the Fortress of Garen bridge, you’ll be able to reach Teien. Once there, head over to the inn, and talk to the lady standing between the two treasure chests: AKA Hellion.
You’ll be able to recruit her simply by asking her to join. Once she leaves for your castle, you’ll be able to open both chests. The chest on the left holds medicine, whilethe chest on the right contains the Blinking Mirror. You can use that Mirror to return to the castle while on the world map whenever you want.

How To Unlock Fast Travel In Suikoden 2
Things are a little simpler in Suikoden 2 than they were in the first title. Much like in the first game, Viki will join during the course of the game. However, you won’t need to seek out Hellion this time around to get the Blinking Mirror, it will be handed to you. Unfortunately, she joins alittlelater in the game this time around. You won’t be able to acquire Viki until you are on thePath To Matilda, which won’t happen until after you haveworked your way through Two Rivers, andcompleted the Greenhill events.
Which is a long way of saying that you won’t recruit Viki until you are a solid chunk of the way through the game. Just like in the first game, she’ll blink into existence right in front of you. At which point, all you’ll have to do is agree to let her stay in your fortress. You’ll be able to use her teleportation magic to fast travel from that point onward.

Where To Find The Blinking Mirror
Unlike Suikoden 1, you won’t have tofindtheBlinking Mirror,as it is an unmissable item that will be given to you during the main quest. However, youaregoing to have to wait until you’veworked your way through the Matilda sectionof the game and engaged the Highland Army in a few skirmishes. Eventually, you’ll make your way to Gregminster, where you’ll have an audience withPresident Lepant and behanded the Blinking Mirror.
