The islands inHello Kitty Island Adventureare breathtaking, but you won’t have to take in the sights by memory alone. Early on in the game, you’ll be able to get your hands on the camera, which is initially used to take pictures of Gudetama around the map.

In this guide, we will be taking a look at how to unlock and use them. This will cover what you can take pictures of, as well as how to use Photo Ops. Overall, the camera is simple, and it’s a great way to show off your character along with your favorite residents.

How To Unlock The Camera

The quest to unlock the camera will become availableonce you reach friendship level one with Pochacco. This is the very first friendship level that is fairly simple to obtain. Once you’ve talked to Pochacco and given him a gift or two, you’ll reach level one andunlock the quest Gudetama Snap.

Pochacco isfound to the right of the Resort Plaza,so you won’t need to travel too far in order to find him. To initially increase your friendship with him, justgift him a few pieces of tofu. This is a one-heart gift for Pochacco that you canobtain by gifting things to Hello Kitty.

This is a very simple quest thattasks you with taking a picture of a Gudetama figure. You won’t have to venture too far in order to find a Gudetama figure; once you find one, you’ll unlock the camera. After this point, the camera can be used freely.

How To Use The Camera

To use the camera, you’ll need tofirst equip it from your circular toolbar.Doing so will cause the camera icon to appear on the bottom right-hand side of your screen. From here, you’ll be able toclick on the icon to enter camera mode.

In camera mode, you’ll have a few options. Above the camera icon, there are now two additional buttons. The one on the left pulls up avariety of emotes that you can use to pose. The icon button on the right willcause your character to face forward (towards the camera).

On the bottom of the screen, you’ll see two new buttons as well. The leftmost buttoncauses all characters on the screen to face forward, including any residents or guests that are in the frame. The rightmost buttoncauses the NPC in question to do the same pose that you are doing (such as sitting or waving).

Once you click the camera icon, a picture will be taken. From here, you’ll see the following options.

You can use the camera to take pictures of pretty much anything. Some quests require you to take pictures, but you can also just snap pics for fun. We like to pose with characters around the island and save them to our camera roll!

How To Use Photo Ops

Photo Ops are locations around town where you may take pictures with residents and visitors. In order to unlock these spots, you’ll first need tocomplete the quest Picture Day,which unlocks after the following quests have been completed.

Once you unlock Picture Day, you’ll be tasked withtaking some pictures of My Melody and ultimately heading towards the southern beach of the Seaside Resort. After going through a series of picture-taking events, My Melody will tell you tofind other Photo Op in Spooky Swamp, Gemstone Mountain, Mount Hothead, and Rainbow Reef.

Thankfully, you won’t have to do any searching to find these spots. These locations (along with the Seaside Resort op) will bemarked on the map with a black baseball cap that has a camera icon on it.You’ll just need to head to these marked spots and take some pictures.

To invite characters to take a photo with you, justtalk to the nearby Null(the one wearing a black hat). From here, you will be able topick the characters that you want to appear in your photo. Some people may be busy and unable to attend, but there are bound to be a few people who are willing to pose with you.
