Many of these achievements are tied to specific quests, but oftentimes, it’s unclear how to trigger them. This is exactly the case with the Penitent One trophy/achievement. This guide will walk you through the exact steps to trigger its quest and complete it to earn the trophy/achievement.
How To Unlock The Penitent One Trophy/Achievement
The Penitent One Trophy/Achievementrequires you tocomplete a side task called Pilgrimage.
Before you’re able to do that, you first need to progress through the gameuntil you complete the main quest For Whom The Bell Tolls, whichwill take you to the Trosky Castle location.
After completing this quest,head back to the room where you found Thomas at the top of the east tower of the castle. There, you’ll finda priest named Father Nicodemus.
He should be easy to spot, and if he’s not in the same room as Thomas, you’re able to often find him in the prayer room or downstairs.
Interact with him, and then select the dialogue option that says, “I want to make the pilgrimage.” Continue chatting with himuntil you receive the side task called Pilgrimage.
This task willsend you to a random shrine, usually not far from your location, and your goal is to make your way there and pray.
You can track the quest in your journal, which will mark the shrine’s location for you.
Once you finish praying at the shrine,the quest will be complete, andthe Penitent One Trophy/Achievement will be unlocked.
