There are a lot of realistic rules and mechanics you need to learn inKingdom Come: Deliverance 2. If you’re walking around at night, you have to be carrying a litTorch. If you’re not, you’ll be told off by guards and other NPCs. If you continue to ignore them, there’s a chance you’ll be attacked, fined, or put into the stocks.
However, getting and using atorchin game isn’t as simple as you might have hoped. In the early hours, you’ll spot people wandering around with a light guiding their way and be wondering how you get that for yourself.

How To Get Torches
Getting atorchis the easy part. Early in the game, you’ll be given one by an NPCand you’ll find it in your inventory. If you lose it somehow or accidentally sell it, you’ll need to get another if you want to explore towns at night.
Thankfully, you can buy torches from various different merchants and shopsin Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. The easier thing to do is tohead to any tavern in the gameand speak to the owner there. They should have torches that they will sell to you.

Be sure to haggle over the price of atorch. They’re not expensive, but you should never pay full price for an item in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.
How To Use Torches
Once you have one, the trickier part is actually using it. First of all, you need toopen your inventoryand look in the section below your weapons. In there, you should see thetorch. All you need to do isclick on it, or press X/A on PlayStation and Xbox respectively, to equip it.
However, unlike other weapons and gear, atorchisn’t added to your belt and pouch slots to quickly equip. Instead, you need to press something else to actually use yourtorch.
If youhold down on the d-pad, which is the button you use to open the menu normally, you’ll seea circle and the wordtorchappear in the bottom right of the screen. Once the circle is filled, Henry will bring out historchand will be safe from the guards.
