Party Clubis a tough multiplayer game about the trials and tribulations of running a venue as a four-legged creature. Be ready to balance bartending, hosting, repair work, cleaning, and somewhat violent customer management to the best of your abilities during days so short that you could blink and miss them.
Being a jack of all trades in such a tight time constraint is a hard ask for a tiny tarsier. But don’t fear - you can improve your chances of making it through the working day relatively unscathed if you make the most of the game’s Power Up system.
What Are Power-Ups?
Power Ups are equippable abilitiesthat help you run your venue as well as possible. There arefour to choose from, each aligning with a different job you’ll be doing a lot of around the club. For example, one will make you a better cleaner while another makes you stronger.
Ability
Rollerblades
Makes your character move much faster, leaving a glowing trail behind it.
Repair things at a much faster rate using the hammer.
Boxing Glove
Whack rowdy customers (or your teammates) are way harder with this.
There are four Power-Ups, and you can have up to four players in a club. For the most efficient pub in the natural world, why not try divvying up who has which one?
Which Power Up Should I Use?
You canonly use one Power-Up at a time, so picking which one to use can feel like a tough choice. However, theydon’t get lost or used uponce you have them, and youcan swap between themso don’t worry too much. Every Power Up has its benefits, andnone of them have any drawbacks, so whatever you have access to, make sure you’re using them.
You canchange them during set up, so you aren’t stuck with it for the whole game. You might find thatsome Power-Ups are more useful for different areasor to assist with finishing certain quests. For example, the Boxing Glove is way more useful in the raucous Metropolis realm than in the comparably quiet Old Village.
Themost well-rounded Power Up is the Rollerblades. They help you to move around your venue super quickly, while the other Power Ups all make individual tasks take less time. Cleaning quickly is good, but if it takes ages to get to the spill then it doesn’t help much.
Time is of the essencein Party Club, so being able toget from one side of the room to the other fast is usefulregardless of whether it’s to seat customers or garnish a drink. Plus, pangolins and quokkas gliding around on skates is an adorable sight.
How To Use Power-Ups
To use your Power-Ups during an in-game day, you need toequip them during setup. Once you’ve equipped them they’llautomatically triggerwhenever you do a relevant task. For example, the Mechanic Power Up will kick in when you’re repairing a drinks machine.
How To Unlock Power-Ups
There aretwo waysof unlocking Power-Ups:
The very last thing you see atthe bottom of the starter kits are Power-Ups, indicated by their relevant icon.Every starter kit has some, so no matter which one you pick, you’ll start the game witha Power Up or two in your treasure chest.
Want more Power Ups? You’ll have the chance tobuy items at the end of each day, right before you start setting up for the next day. This includes Power-Ups, which are on thethird page of the shop.
After the first day, there’s no limit to how many Power-Ups you buy at once, so long as you have enough coins. But, you canonly equip one Power Up at a time, so don’t go buying way more than you need unless you plan on swapping between them a lot.
Keep in mind which Power Up(s) you got in your starter kit unless you want duplicates of the same item.
How Much Do Power-Ups Cost?
Power Upscosts 200 coins. You earn coins from serving customers and, later in the game, beating up certain characters like the Rich Pig. Like with other items,Power-Ups can be reduced in daily sales, so look out for good deals.
They’reregularly reduced to 180 coins, which is a much more affordable fee, particularly if you’re playing in a smaller group or just finding your feet in the game. It’s worth picking them up when they’re cheap, rather than rushing to buy them.
You can’t save up coins from level to level, so make sure you’re spending them liberally while you’re running each venue. Otherwise they’ll just go to waste.
How To Equip Power-Ups
You can equip Power-Ups bygoing to the treasure chest during setupand flicking to the very last page. They’reon their page, aptly named Power-Ups. Going to this page brings up a carousel menu where you can look at all of the Power-Ups you have.
Rotate through the menu andpick whichever oneyou fancy.This will apply the Power Upto your character. If any of your co-workers want a Power Up, they’ll have to repeat the steps themselves.
Should you decide you’ve had enough of Power-Ups, you can alsoremove them using basically the same method. You can find anoption in the Power-Ups menu named Unequipwith a red stop sign. Select it and your character will revert to their usual self.
