This guide covers everything you need to master Sett: from Summoner Spells and ability tips to combos, runes, builds, and strategies for both early and late game.

Sett’s Abilities: How To Use And Basic Combos
Sett’s ability kit is powerful but actually very straightforward, but you need to be aggressive. As atanky bruiser with two crowd controlsand no mana, he can dominate any fight if played correctly. With timing, combos, and positioning, Sett can lay waste to the enemy team even under their own turret.
Description And Tips

Passive: Pit Grit
Sett’s basic attacks alternate between left and right punches. The right punch is faster, hits harder, and has a slightly longer range. If he doesn’t follow up within two seconds, the sequence resets.
The more Sett loses health, the more he regens (0.25 health for every 5% missing). This is especially handy for long fights since he can regen and deal tons of damage with his Haymaker.

Knuckle Down
Gains 30% movement speed toward enemy champions in 1.5 seconds and deals bonus damagewith the next two attacks. Ideal for gap-closing and setting up combos.
To get the most out of Knuckle Down, start with two basic left-right attacks, then activate Knuckle Down right afterto punch two more empowered strikes instantly.

Haymaker
Sett stores damage taken as Grit, which decays over time.He consumes Grit to punch out Haymaker, dealing true damage to enemies in the center and physical damage to those outside.
The more Grit he stores, the harder Haymaker hits. When he’s fed, one Haymaker is often enough to send ADCs and mages counting numbers.

Beyond raw damage,Haymaker doubles as a defensive toolto help him escape from unfavorable team fights.Haymaker is also great for turret dives.Sett can tank shots, then use its shield to buy time to escape or secure a kill.
Sett can also pull off a Flash + Haymaker comboto catch enemies off guard. Most won’t be quick enough to escape its range.

Facebreaker
Sett smashes enemies together, dealing damage and slowing them. If he pulls at least two from opposite sides, they get stunned. It’s perfect for closing gaps and setting up a devastating Haymaker or The Show Stopper.
Sett can also use a Flash and Facebreaker comboto pull enemies from the side. Most won’t see it coming, and by the time they realize it, they’re already caught, slowed, or stunned.
you may extend the range of Sett’s Facebreaker byslightly angling it and pulling enemies with the corner of the hitbox.
Ultimate: The Show Stopper
Sett grabs an enemy champion, suppresses them, and slams them into the ground in his facing direction. The ability deals damage to both the target and nearby enemies, heavily slowing them. The more HP the target has, the more damage their teammates takeon impact.
The Show Stopper is both an offensive and defensive ability, and it can even help secure objectives.
This ability isperfect for opening combats, breaking enemy formations, and entering their backline. It cleaves away chunks of their HP, setting up easy kills when followed by Facebreaker, Knuckle Down, and Haymaker. For maximum damage, grab the tank and slam them into their teammates.
The Show Stopper can work as an escape tool.Grab an enemy and ult them over a wall if you’re stuck with the enemies in the jungle. If you’re being chased, use it to isolate a pursuer by throwing them away from their team, creating a gap to escape.
Sett’s ult can be a game-changer for securing objectives. If the enemy Jungler tries to Flash into the Baron or Dragon pit for a steal, just ult them right over the wall and away from the fight.
you may alsospeed up Sett’s ult by slamming the target into a nearby wall.
Best Ability Leveling Order
There are two best leveling orders for Sett based on whether youstart out with Haymaker or Knuckle Down.
Start With Haymaker
Take and max out Haymaker first, then Facebreaker, then Knuckle Down. Level up The Show Stopper whenever it’s available.
This ability leveling order isespecially effective in lower ranks. Enemies often miscalculate the power of Haymaker, so trade blows with your opponent until your Grit is full. Make sure that their HP is low enough to execute them with Haymaker. Most won’t even see it coming, andthis can almost always secure First Blood.
Rinse and repeat with theaddition of Knuckle Down and The Show Stopperto send your enemy to meet their maker.
In higher ranks, skilledopponents can sidestep your Haymaker, leaving you in a really bad spot.
Start With Knuckle Down
Max out Haymaker first, then Knuckle Down, then Facebreaker. Level up The Show Stopper whenever it’s available.
This leveling order is more reliable, especially in higher ranks. Skilled opponents know how to play around Haymaker by sidestepping or moving behind you to avoid its damage. If that happens, you’ll be stuck with low HP and only a decaying shield.
That’s whytaking Knuckle Down first is a safer bet, since it gives youbonus damage based on the enemy’s max health percent, which isgreat for dealing with Tanks. Haymaker then provides the extra defense you need. Once you have both offense and defense covered, Facebreaker lets youclose the gapand keep the pressure on your opponent.
Best Summoner Spells
Flash and Ignite are Sett’s best Summoner Spells. This combo lets you play aggressively. Since Sett is built to run towards combat instead of away from it,he lacks mobility for escaping, so Flash is perfect for covering this weakness and helping him engage with enemies.
Meanwhile, Ignite’s burn damage can be the difference between a secured kill or a missed opportunity, especially against champions like Tryndamere. It can also apply anti-heal effectsto deal with champions like Aatrox and Mundo.
Best Runes For Sett
The best Runes for Sett are Grasp Of The Undying, Courage Of The Colossus, Second Wind, Overgrowth, and Brutalsince they can increase his durability and damage output.
Reason
Grasp Of The Undying
Boosts Sett’s tankiness and durability by giving himextra healing and permanent HPwith each empowered attack. The longer Sett is in a fight, the better Grasp Of The Undying does its job.
Courage Of The Colossus
Grants Sett a shield after he immobilizes an enemy champion, making it a strong synergy with Facebreaker and The Show Stopper.
Second Wind
Increases Sett’s regeneration, especially after taking damage, giving him more chances to survive and execute his Haymaker. The effect is even doubled for melee champions, so that’s another plus.
Overgrowth
Increases Sett’s max HP over timeas he can get bonus Max Health for enemy minions or monsters killed nearby. Sincethis can scale infinitely, it makes him even tankier, giving him more durability to dish out damage and protect his teammates.
Brutal
Provides extra damage, giving Sett a better chance to win lane and snowball into the late game.
Best Builds For Sett
Here are Sett’s core items, along with some strong situational picks to adapt to different matchups.
Core Items
Sett is a bruiser, meaning he’s both tanky and capable of dealing high damage. So,you should build a mix of tank and damage itemsto balance durability and offense for him. Sett’s core items include:
Heartsteel
The most important item for Sett as it canboost Sett’s max HP infinitely. The more stacks he gains, the more max health he’ll have. And since he’s a melee champion, he can gain these stacks in no time.
Black Cleaver
Shreds enemy armor. It’s especially useful in the top lane—the playground of tanks and fighters. It also providesa significant health boost, attack damage, and amplifies Haymaker.
Titanic Hydra
Boosts damage with AoE cleave, scales well with Heartsteel, and speeds up farming and wave clearing.
Provides a shieldto save Sett from burst damage.
Amaranth’s Twinguard
Providesbonus armor and magic resistance while reducing crowd control duration. Depending on the situation, it can be swapped for Thornmail or Force of Nature.
Boots and Enchantments
Start with Plated Steelcaps, thenupgrade to Steel-plated Stoneplatetoboost Max Health and Health regen. This helps reduce incoming physical damage, especially handy against AD-heavy compositions. If the enemy team has many mages or crowd control effects, take Mercury’s Stoneplate instead.
There are also Lethality and Attack Sett builds, but they are only viable if you’re highly skilled with him and the enemy team lacks crowd control. Otherwise, Sett risks becoming a punching bag.
Situational Items
In League of Legends: Wild Rift or any other MOBA, no single build works for every match. Each game brings its own surprises, so you’ll need situational items to counter specific issues:
Tocounter champions with high life steal or healing.
Tocounter enemies with high magic damage.
Divine Sunderer
To shred tanks. It deals damage based on the target’s max health, so it’s especially effective against champions like Mundo and Sion while also providing Sett withmax HP, healing, and Ability Haste.
Randuin’s Omen
To stand a chance against fed ADCs, especially those reliant on critical strikes. It also helpsslow ADCs' attack speed.
How To Play Sett And Win
Sett is great when paired with melee championslike Nasus, Darius, and can hard counter Garen by timing Haymaker right as Garen ults. However,he struggles against ranged championslike Vayne, Teemo, and Gragas. Vayne can shred him with true damage, Teemo’s blind nullifies his auto attacks (AA), and Gragas is just a walking nightmare. The safest way to deal with them is towait for your Jungler.
For Vayne and Teemo or any other ADCs, if you’re confident, go ahead and be aggressive. Close the gap with The Show Stopper or Facebreaker and just punch your way through. This is highly risky, but it’s also highly satisfying when you may kill them.
Against Teemo, bait out his blind by running at him, then stay close until it wears offbefore finishing off the brat with your full combo—AA, Knuckle Down, Facebreaker, and a Haymaker. If he blinds you and tries to roll away, close the gap with The Show Stopper, or Flash then ult to toss him away from his turret. Once he’s out of position, he’s all yours.
Early Game
Sett is an early-game monster, capable of dominating most champions and even pulling off 1v2 fights against the enemy top laner and Jungler. He excels in 1v1 trades, so pressure your opponent constantlyto prevent them from farming and keep them behind in gold and EXP. During the laning phase:
Late Game
As the game progresses into its late stages, Sett starts to get outscaled by stronger carries. He’s still a powerhouse, but not enough to be a one-man army. That’s whySett becomes more of a team player in the late game.
Stick with your team, initiate fights with your ult, peel for your ADC, help with objectives, and create opportunities for your team, but always verify they’re ready to follow up. Otherwise, you’ll be diving in alone with no way out.
