Amazon Prime’s adaptation ofInvincibleis incredibly faithful to its source material,and the story arcs that fundamentally changed the narrative were brought on screen in the best way possible. For example, the Invincible War arc showcased in season three, that fans had been waiting eagerly for.
In the comics, Angstrom Levy brings alternate versions of Mark into the main reality and unleashes an army of evil Invincibles from alternate dimensions to destroy Earth. Even though we all thought he was dead at the end of season two, Angstrom returned and at the end of the Invincible war arc he survives yet again, though his fate remains unknown.
Angstrom Levy Survives Season Two
In the climactic finale of Invincible Season 2,Angstrom Levy shows up at Mark’s homeandantagonizes Debby and Oliver while sending Mark to different dimensions. Angstromcontinually outsmarts Marktill he eventually grabs Angstrom and flies with him to another dimensionwhere he pummels Angstrom to death.
We all assumed that he died right there and then,and Mark felt incredibly guilty for killing Levy, but it turns out, he survived. He somehow managed to open a portalwhere he is eventually treated by some creepy-looking alien racecalled the technicians. From there, he gathersevil alternate versions of Invincibleto enact his plan of vengeance once again.
The Invincible War Arc
Angstrom decides to take things to the next level, by gathering an army of Invincibles from alternate realities. Each of these evil versions ofMark comes from a different world, with different experiences, but they all have one thing in common,they’re willing to kill without hesitation.
Levy’s army of Invincibles spreads across the planet, attacking cities, killing innocent people, and wiping out entire superhero teams. The scale of destruction isunlike anything seen before in the series, even during Omniman’s fight against Invincible back in season one. Major heroes, including the guardians,struggle just to survive, let alone fight back. Earth’s defenses are completely overwhelmed,and it quickly becomes clear that if something isn’t done soon, the planet won’t recover from this attack.
In the end,there are only eight remaining variants of Invinciblethat go against Angstrom’s plan, which means that he must get rid of thembefore initiating the next phase. Mark then finally confronts Angstrom and, after a brief fight with him,overpowers him and is about to kill him for good this time.
What Happened To Angstrom Levy At The End?
At the conclusion of this episode,Angstrom Levy’s whereabouts remain unknownas he escapes at the last second, losing his arm in the process andgoes back to the technicians once again.
However, Angstrom is trapped by the technicians that once healed him,and they decide to nullify his powersuntil he fulfills hisend of the bargain. His fate is left unknown,but he will most definitely return in future seasons.
