Summary
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2hasn’t even been out for a week yet and there’s already a mod that fixes the game’s infamous save system and lets you keep your progress without using Saviour Schnapps.
One of the big selling points and goals of the firstKingdom Come: Deliverancewas making you feel as sucked into Henry’s world as possible, which it aimed to achieve with realistic movement and combat, survival systems, and a world that reacts to your choices. That was all well and good, but it did lead to some divisive gameplay mechanics.

Perhaps the most infamous of these was the game’s save system. At launch, Kingdom Come: Deliverancedidn’t let you save unless you had a surprisingly hard-to-craft drink called Saviour Schnapps, a decision that was so controversial that a save and exit option was eventually added in. Well, that’s all returned for the sequel.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Fans Have Already Gotten Rid Of Saviour Schnapps
Just like in the first game, manually saving in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 requires Henry to craft Saviour Schnapps, which is a lot easier this time around but still a fair bit of legwork for most players. While you can just save and exit at anytime from the get-go now, dedicated fans have already created a mod that makes that a non-issue.
Over on Nexus Mods, creator EddieShoe shared the Unlimited Saving 2 modas asequel to the original mod they made for the first game. Just like it says on the tin, this mod lets you save the game at any point without using any Saviour Schnapps, which basically means unlimited saves at any time, opening the door up for potential save-scumming.
For anyone worrying that Unlimited Saves 2 might break Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 a little, then you’ll be happy to know that achievements still work with the mod installed. Beyond removing a little bit of the game’s immersion, it seems like there’s no downside for PC players when it comes to using the mod.
As of the time of writing, the Unlimited Saving 2 mod has over 38,000 downloads, which should go to show just how divisive the mechanic has always been.
Considering the fact that Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 only just launched two days ago, it’s a little remarkable that a mod of this size has already been made. It does seemingly work off the base that the first game’s mod used, but it’s still a big win for anyone playing on anything but a console.
