Summary
Legoappears to have a lot of plans for potentialLord of the Ringssets in 2025, but despite the steady flow of leaks, it refuses to confirm what’s coming. That now includes a much smaller third set that will seemingly be a free gift withthe Bag End setwe’re all expecting to be officially revealed any day now.
The Lord of the Rings gift with purchase set, which has been shared left and right by various Lego leak accountsincluding BlogsBrickandthe r/LegoNewsAndRumors subreddit, will seemingly bea Smeagol and Deagol fishing set. By far the deepest cut to have been given the LOTR Lego treatment so far as it depicts a scene many casual Lord of the Rings fans might not be familiar with.
Deagol is Smeagol’s cousin and while fishing together, Deagol discovers The One Ring. Smeagol, already under the ring’s spell, asks if he can have it since it’s his birthday. Deagol, also under the ring’s hold, refuses, so Smeagol strangles him to death and takes it, hiding his cousin’s body and taking the first step on his very dark journey.
A Third Lord Of The Rings Lego Set Has Leaked
This One Is Even Cheaper Again Since It Will Be Free
Perfect Lego set fodder, I’m sure you’ll agree. Even though Lego hasn’t confirmed that the set exists, images of it have already been shared online. It includes Minifigures of each character with the set itself comprising a shore, some water, fishing rods, and a Lego One Ring to place on the set’s riverbed, waiting to be discovered.
The set is only 181 pieces, which is why it seems almost certain that it will be a free gift with the rumored Bag End set that will hopefully be revealed any day now. Lord of the Rings has nothing but expensive sets right now, and rumored to be priced at $200, the Bag End set won’t change that. Throwing a smaller set in for free for a limited time will soften the blow of spending that much on some LOTR Lego.
It’s the same tactic Lego applied last year when it releasedits impressive Barad-dur set. The Mount Doom Lego setincluded a free Fellbeast setfor a limited time. It has also been heavily rumored that Lego will buck its one per year Lord of the Rings set tradition and releasea set modeled after Gandalf’s battle with a Balroglater this year. Potentially lots of Lord of the Rings Lego to look forward to.
