Three villains are already confirmed for the crossover

The Spider-Man crossover is the third entry in the Universes Beyond series. As the name suggests, this gives other IPs their own MTG run. The first one was centred around The Lord of the Rings, which you may remember best forthe unique card that had the community in a frenzy: The One Ring. The next Universes Beyond set will launch in June, and is a crossover with theFinal Fantasy series. Other franchises that have had crossovers include Fallout and Doctor Who.

These crossovers aren’t slowing down anytime soon. It’s been said thatUniverses Beyond sets beat others in “every metric”, so there’s a lot of demand for these runs. Last October, it was also revealed thatall Universes Beyond sets would be legal in all formats. which makes sense, given how much of MTG’s release calendar they take up now. This upset fans at the time, but as long as they keep performing well, there’s no reason for MTG to slow down.
