Quickstep Strike is a bread-and-butter ability that you’ll use throughout various fights, regardless of your selected style. Dodging and otherwise avoiding damage is a huge key to your success in combat, and Majima’s survival, so any ability that helps to keep Majima alive is appreciated.
This quick dodge-and-counter maneuver allows Majima to narrowly avoid taking damage while sneaking in a quick response attack with minimal risk. Despite the relatively early availability of this option, it’s one of the best ability choices in Pirate Yakuza In Hawaii.

Inevitably, Majima is going to get hit by an attack every so often, making Knockdown Evasion a huge help for avoiding the elongated recovery times when you’re struck by a strong attack.
Knockdown Evasion accelerates Majima’s recovery to near-instant perfection if you time your dodge well before tumbling injured to the ground. If you get greedy with Quickstep Strikes, then this ability will be a massive boon, helping youreset your attack pattern without getting stuck in a stun-lock situation.
Guard
Guardright when your enemy is about to land their attack. Only works from thefront.
Perfect Guard singlehandedly takes the Sea Dog style up a notch or two,as your defensive options for this style are extremely limited in the early stages, making it an exceptionally risky style. However, Perfect Guard, and itsSea Dog-specific upgrade, Perfect Guard Reversal,are massive upgrades to that style’s overall usefulness.
Luckily, the best part of Perfect Guard is you can utilize it in either Sea Dog or Mad Dog style, giving you the flexibility to stick with your preferred style without sacrificing the necessary defensive options.
4Chain Reaction – Sea Dog
This ability is one of the most important forany Sea Dog taking on the Pirates' Coliseum,specifically Madlantis Mania. The movement speed and ability to cover large distances are huge bits of help when you’re gunning for specific time cutoffs that will lead to more S-rank completions.
you may hold B/Circle then decide midair whether you want to use your Chain Hook to dodge behind attackers or use your cutlass to deal huge chunks of damage as you connect with your foes.
Heat Action
Summon doppelgangers with full Madness Gauge, then guard andhit Y/Triangle to initiate the Heat Action.
The Essence of Howling Shadows is a powerful Heat Action that utilizes the Mad Dog’s ability to summon several copies of Majima and direct their fury toward your opponent.
While this ability is fantastic and worth using on its own, itbecomes even more lethal when combined with the “More Majima” ability, which increases the total number of doppelgangers you summon at once.
Few foes can stand up to the power of your doppelgangers when summoned normally, and this Heat Action only increases the damage you can inflict with your copies.
Attack
Throw your cutlasses in a boomerang-like fashion,slashing through the enemies in front of you and doing more damage as the cutlasses return to Majima.
The Cutlass Heave-Ho is another one of Majima’s go-to abilitieswhen in the Sea Dog style, as it will be a mainstay for many fights throughout the story and in the Pirates' Coliseum. While the initial version of Cutlass Heave-Ho seems average at best, the attack becomes more important as you upgrade Majima’s overall damage, allowing you to start battles with a bang.
Initiating the fight by weakening your foes from a slight distance is a huge advantage, and this ability doesn’t require that long of a charge time, especially compared to your pistols, or Mad Dog’s spinning knife attack. This is your most reliable source of quick, risk-free damage.
Release a pistol shot thenpress Y/Triangleto trigger a powerful Heat Action whenfive or more enemies are nearby.
Speaking of quick damage, the Essence of Piracy: Rain Of Blood offers a relatively safe method of doing damage to a large group of enemies, though you’ll need to charge your pistol shot to trigger this Heat Action’s prerequisite.
However, once you fire a charged pistol shot, you may hit Y/Triangle again to perform this powerful Heat Action, which will dish out massive damage,usually defeating up to five enemiesas long as they’re either weakened mini-boss enemies or relatively vulnerable rank-and-file foes. If you master the timing, this will quickly become your favorite ability in Pirate Yakuza In Hawaii.
