Marvel Rivals' first season will introducethe entirety of The Fantastic Four, but fans are already worried about mixing up Sue Storm, AKA the Invisible Woman, with Dagger.
As you’re able to see pictured above, the two have strikingly similar costumes. Dagger does sport a jacket, and Sue Storm has a giant ‘4’ emblazoned on the left of her chest, but in the thick of battle when enemies are darting about, the little details will inevitably blend together.
Since the two have the same colour palette, as well as long blonde hair and a similar silhouette, it’s easy to imagine people getting confused. Which is exactly what Reddit user Kalequity brought to the community’s attention.
As commenter phyticum explains, hero shooters are built on each character having a unique set of abilities, and immediately knowing what those are in the middle of a fight is crucial.
That’s why hero shooters have such distinct designs for every character, whereas “five Hulks, 17 Spider-men, seven symbiotes, five Iron Mans, and a squad of Captain Americas” would only make every match a confusing nightmare to navigate.
Skins To The Rescue
Luckily, there are already a few skins that make Sue Storm stand out as her own character. One gives her a more traditional all-blue costume with a few black highlights, and another turns her intothe “Mistress of Hate”, a completely unrecognisable design with a red and black colour palette.
This is part ofthe season’s Dracula theme.
Cloak & Dagger also have a few skins that help them stand out from the Invisible Woman. One gives her a white and green costume with more pronounced shoulder pads, and another dons her in a black jumpsuit and gold jacket, moving away from Sue Storm’s base design completely.
Hopefully, this will be enough for now, but so many Marvel characters share abilities and similar costumes, so it’s a problem that Rivals will no doubt continue to run into.
