With a roster of 33 heroes and villains, one month intoMarvel Rivals, there has naturally been a lot of discussion surrounding characters that aren’t good enough, and perhaps more importantly, those who are far too overpowered. It’s likely the start of season one, which could be here by the weekend, will bring about the first round of Rivals' adjustments, and it will seemingly spell bad news for Hela and Hawkeye mains.
X0X_LEAK, who was among the first to reveal information aboutthe now-confirmed Fantastic Four’s arrivaland has also claimeda capture the flag mode is coming soon, has leaked a lot of info about season one, all of which will apparently be officially announced over the next few days. The leaked info includes buffs and nerfs for certain members of the roster, withHela and Hawkeye being the ones that will reportedly be taken down a peg or two.
News that those are the two NetEase seemingly plans to deal with first will likely come as no surprise to those who have been playing Rivals a lot during its launch month. Hawkeye, in particular, could do with a nerf due tohis ability to deal heavy damage from long-range. If you find yourself up against an adept Hawkeye main, the match will likely be front-loaded with you and your teammates being taken out from a distance over and over, often within a shot or two if you’re not a tank.

Good News For Cloak & Dagger, Storm, And Wolverine Mains, Though
Hela is overpowered for similar reasonsand can also do a lot of damage to enemies from a great distance. However, I’d hazard to guess it’s her ultimate that will be taking a nerf in season one. The Goddess of Death rises above the battlefield and can quite literally rain down hell on anyone within quite a large distance. Suffice to say, it almost certainly won’t be quite as terrifying when you hear her yell “Hell unleashed” next season, although do still try and avoid her.
The leak isn’t all bad news. It also claims that a few of Rivals' heroes and villains will receive buffs. Again, the finer details haven’t been shared, butCloak & Dagger, Wolverine, and Storm are expected to be adjustedin season one. As someone who uses Storm quite a bit, I’m hoping her accuracy will get buffed.
Captain America and Venom are also likely getting movement buffs, and it’s believed we’ll start getting concrete info about season one starting on Tuesday. The same leak notes a dev blog, likely one that includes upcoming nerf and buff info,will be published on January 7, and we may get a trailer for season one, and probably a first official in-game look at the Fantastic Four, before the end of today.
