Summary

NetEasedropped a trailer for Marvel Rivals season oneon Monday, further showing off the Fantastic Four and revealing the game’s new big bad will be Dracula starting this Friday. This morning, it’s back with a first look at the gameplay of one of the four new characters. The video showcases Mister Fantastic and quietly reveals an advantage he’ll have over other Duelists.

As you might expect, the foundation of Reed Richards' offense is his stretchy limbs. The showcase begins with the leader of the Fantastic Four dealing damage from a distance by stretching his arms and punching enemies far away. Typical Duelist stuff except Mister Fantastic doesn’t need a weapon or a projectile to clear a path like other Duelists do such as Iron Man and Psylocke.

Mister Fantastic will be able to do more than just punch people from a distance though, of course. One of the more interesting moves shown off in the trailer below sees him pick up two enemies and smash them together. He can also use a move called Muscle Inflation which, similar to the Hulk, makes him bigger so that he can absorb more damage, and presumably deal more of it at the same time.

Your First Look At How Mister Fantastic Will Play In Marvel Rivals

Rivals Gets A Lot More Fantastic This Friday

As for his Ultimate, Richards' finishing move sees him use his elasticity to leap into the air and slam down to the ground fists-first over and over again. Aside from his move set though, one of the more interesting reveals about Mister Fantastic via a first official look at this gameplay is confirmation that he will have more HP than any other Duelist on the roster.

Duelists tend to have 250 HP in Marvel Rivals, but Mister Fantastic has one-upped all of them before he has even stepped foot onto the multiversal battlefield. As you’re able to see in the gameplay above, the new hero will have 350 HP. There’s also a chance that HP is inflated even more when Richards uses Muscle Inflation, although it’s unclear if the health buff he gets in the clip above is caused by that move or due to a teammate helping him out.

Rivals players are still trying to process that they’ll be getting four new characters in one season. Even though they’re all a part of the same superhero team, they won’t all be arriving on the roster at once. Richards and Sue Storm will be playable when season one starts this Friday, while The Thing and Human Torch will join them at a later date during season one.
