WithMarvel’s Spider-Man 2, thesequel to Insomniac Games' titleof the same name,now out on PC, it didn’t take too long beforethe mods came out in full force. Already,there is a mod that gives Peter back his original haircut, plus anotherthat replaces Miles Morales' divisive haircut. That’s not to make mention ofthe mod that manages to bypass the PSN requirements.
There’s also several rather hilarious mods available, includingone that makes the Fortnite iteration of Hatsune Miku a playable character, as well as anotherthat adds CJ and Big Smoke from GTA: San Andreas. That said, the real mod that fans have been waiting for — a fully playable Venom — is now out, and it looks epic.
Venom Free Roam Is Now Possible
Over on Nexus Mods, a site dedicated to mods for various games,user Chrisbuss has uploaded a mod that allows players to control Venom throughout the world.
According to the description, the mod replaces Spider-Man’s traditional black suit with Venom. In place of his powers, Venom’s own abilities have been added. Specifically, “Spider Barrage” and “Anti-Venom Blast” have been replaced with Venom’s versions.

There are plans to add the grab ability in the future, though the mod looks fairly stable as is.The creator also noted plans to swap the existing Spider-Man photo-mode with a Venom photo-mode, plus an adjustment to traversal, meaning the mod could look closer to a full Venom game before long.
As fans who played Spider-Man 2 at launch know,the surprise of being able to play as Venom, even for a short while, was one of the game’s biggest highlights. Now, with the mod, it looks like gamers will be able to experience that to their heart’s content. That’s especially clutch,considering Insomniac hinted at a spin-off, though no plans have been announced.
