Steam All-Time Top Ten Concurrent Players List.

Monster Hunter Is Absolutely Wild

As noted byPC Gamer, as of 10:05 pm PT on launch day, Monster Hunter Wilds entered the number ten spot on Steam’s all-time concurrent players list with 920,464 players. However, there seem to be no signs of stopping this behemoth. At the time of writing, barely 30 minutes after PC Gamer, Monster Hunter Wilds hastaken the number eight spot with 987,482 concurrent players, beating even the invincibleElden Ringfor the spot, according toSteamdb, and it shows no sign of slowing down.

It’s not exactly unprecedented for a highly anticipated title to enter Steam’s top ten list – for instance, Black Myth: Wukong is now second on the all-time list. But beating the likes of Elden Ring and Baldur’s Gate 3 within two hours is just ridiculous. This is also partly due to the fact that the PC launch is at the same time as the console launch.

In hisreview for Monster Hunter Wilds, senior reporterEric Switzersaid it “aims, and often succeeds, at presenting itself as a living, breathing world. Everything new about this entry is working together to increase a sense of immersion either by adding new layers of realism, or eliminating arcane systems that would traditionally take you out of Monster Hunter’s world and into menus. The results range from good to great, but at the cost of some of the complexity the series is known for. For better or worse, Wilds is the most welcoming and approachable Monster Hunter has ever been.
