Original story follows below:

Monster Hunter Wildshad quite a launch, entering Steam’s top-ten chartsone hour after launch. It thenreached one million concurrent playersbarely six hours after launch, the overall playerreviews were mixed due to performance and visual issues. It certainly has a bunch of launch issues, but Capcom is already on them.

While most of these issues are performance and visual based, you may still play the game, albeit with some missing textures. However, it seems players have come across a game breaking bug that has halted progression, due to a missing NPC. It seems that in some rare cases, the required NPC is missing for Main Mission: Chapter 5-2 A World Turned Upside Down.

NPC Hunter Wilds

While you’re usually supposed to be hunting monsters, a few players may be hunting for the NPC in Main Mission: Chapter 5-2. It seems they can’t be found anywhere or interacted with, essentially halting progression for these players. While most of the issues with the game have been to do with performance, this one is a game breaker.

“Hunters, we are currently investigating the following issue,” said the Monster Hunter support handle on Twitter. “There may be cases where an NPC does not appear, disabling story progression in Main Mission: Chapter 5-2 A World Turned Upside Down. We are currently working on these issues and will provide further updates when we have them.”

In order to avoid spoilers, we won’t reveal much about the NPC or the mission, but if you’re on Main Mission: Chapter 5-2 and can’t find them anywhere, then you may be one for the unfortunate few who have encountered this bug.

As you’re able to imagine, the replies to the tweet were filled with players asking for texture fixes and optimization for the PC version of Monster Hunter Wilds. While Capcom has already acknowledged the issues, it seems players have become impatient, especially since the game had two closed beta tests to figure things out.

Some fans even think that theissues are because of a typo in the game’s source code. However, fixing it themselves resulted in CPU overheating.
