Summary
Well, that didn’t take long.
Just one day after releasing on Feb. 28, on March 1, a gamer managed to upload a mod forMonster Hunter Wilds, allowing playersto edit their character as many times as they’d like.
Aptly titled,“Unlimited Character And Palico Editor,“the mod, which was created and uploaded to Nexus Mods by Ridog8, has already had over 13,000 downloads and counting.According to the mod’s description, even if your edit vouchers are at “0,” you’ll still be able to edit to your heart’s delight.

Editing Your Character Has Been Paywalled
Ahead of the game’s launch,it was revealed that Wilds, like past Monster Hunter titles, would lock the ability to edit your character behind “edit vouchers"that cost $6.99 each for three character and Palico edits.
That particular bit of newshad fans calling for the removal of the microtransaction. “The only reason they charge money for it is because they know people are going to want to edit their character but aren’t going to want to wipe 40 hours of playtime to do so,“one user wrote in a popular Reddit thread.
Of course, that particular bit of controversy did little to slow down Wilds' launch. Immediately following its release, the game managed to crack 1,000,000-plus concurrent players on Steam. In turn, the launch of Wildshelped Steam as a whole set a brand-new peak player count of over 40 million, a first for the client.
Either way, it’s nice to know that players now and in the future won’t have to worry too much about shelling out extra cash to simply edit their character. It’s just another case of modders doing all they can to impact the games they love.
