Palicoes are, and always will be, one of the best parts of theMonster Hunterseries. The little cat-like creatures are perfect companions and often provide vital support when out on the hunt.Monster Hunter Wilds, in this regard, is no different.
However, while many players are happy to let their furry friends reach their full potential, apparently, some think they’re a littletoohelpful, and because of this, a mod has already been released, suppressing the abilities of the little helpers.
Monster Hunter Wilds Palicoes Have Already Been Nerfed
While some players havedecided to fix Monster Hunter Wilds' many PC issuesorbypass the paywalled character editorthrough mods, creator Ultros7 has used his abilities to nerf Palicoes through the “Reasonable Palico Nerfs” mod posted on Nexus Mods.
Ultros7’s mod description reads:
“This is a simple mod to nerf the Palicoes in the game, in particular their usage of tools. By default, they heal too often, and too much. This mod mostly reduces the frequency of their heals, as well as the potency.”
There are two core versions of the mod: the “Reasonable Palico Nerfs” version, which reduces healing potency to 40 percent, with Palicoes only healing 1/3 as often, and the “50 Percent Version”. This, as the name suggests, nerfs both the potency of heals and the frequency of heals down to 50 percent.
The mod also includes an “unreasonable” file, which Ultros7 states “nerfs these aspects to the ground,” turning the Palico into nothing more than emotional support.
Personally, I don’t see an issue with the frequency of heals. The only Palico-related healing mod I’d like to see is one that stops them from healing me the second I drink a healing potion. And a second mod that makes themnever speak with an English voice ever again wouldn’t go amiss.
