Netherrealm announced yesterday, followingthe new T-1000 trailer,that Madam Bo will be added to the roster on March 18. And if you ownthe Khaos Reigns expansion, you’ll unlock her for free.
Since Madam Bo is a Kameo, that means you can pair her with Kung Lao/Raiden and get some much-deserved revenge on Smoke. Maybe throw him over a balcony onto a flimsy wooden table. See how he likes it, eh?
In fairness, that whole segment — which quickly became a meme — was a test orchestrated by Fire God Liu Kang for Raiden and Kung Lao. But I’m sure it’ll still be cathartic for Bo to throw him over. Though, that isn’t her only connection with the Lin Kuei.
Madam Bo is alsoSektor’smother, as confirmed in her intro dialogue. So, as of March 18, you can take on other players with a mother/daughter team-up. It’s not Cassie and Sonya, but I’ll take it.
The New Universe’s Bo' Rai Cho?
A pretty popular fan theory about Madam Bo is thatshe’s the new universe’s version of Bo' Rai Cho, or at the very least his wife. There’s the obvious connection, Bo’Rai Cho/MadamBo, but fans also highlighted that they share a few loose similarities.
They both trained Kung Lao, hang out with gods, and are heavily associated with alcoholic drinks. It’s not the most concrete theory, mostly hinging on their names being the same, but it’s a fun one to ponder at any rate. And if the theory is true and Madam Bo is the new Bo' Rai Cho, then her being added to the roster isn’t that strange.
Hell, when the theory was put forward last year, one commenter even suggested that she should be future DLC. Next month, that becomes a reality.
