Summary
Hyper Light Breakerboasts a wide assortment of Rails, or ranged weapons, to choose from. Like the many melee weapons Breaker’s also wield, these Rails each have their own special perks, status effects, and attack bonuses that need to be kept track of. And, you never know exactly which Rail will be right for the next run.
That’s why we’ve curated this list of the best overall Rails to look out for on your cycles. These Rails all have either powerful stat bonuses, or great effects that can help immensely. Next time you go huntingin the Overgrowth, be on the lookout for one or all of these options.

15 percent more Armor the more Crystal Gear acquired.
Increases Amp DMG by ten percent.
The Blunderbuss' scatter fire rate is a great choice for beginners and advanced players alike. With a wide spread, you’re very likely to hit enemies. Or, you’re able to double up damage on a single target by aiming your fire spread at larger combatants.
The crystal effect is especially helpful as this can temporarily halt enemies. Overall, this is a great Rail for AoE and crowd control. Plus, the damage is generally very strong and can help out with Amps.

Burn, which deals five DMG every second.
Flaming Cascade - Burn effects stack.
This line Rail fires a concentrated beam of energy out at combatants, meaning it’s a lot easier to aim than most other Rails. What’s more, this particular variant has the Burn effect and the Flaming Cascade effect. This can make for a lethal combination when used correctly.
Stacking the Burn effect on top of enemies with a wide spread of fire can be great for crowd control. The only downside is this weapon isn’t great when it comes to individualized targets.

Line
Rail shots gain +25 percent knockback.
Shots have a 23 percent chance to deal 50 percent more stagger.
This option offers a lot of great crowd control in addition to damage. As a line Rail, again, it’s very easy to hit a lot of targets at once without the need for super specific aim. Combine this with the Rail’s effects, and you’ll be certain to keep enemies back.

Knockback is a severely underrated ability for Rails to have. This not only means you can keep enemies away from you, but this means you can keep using ranged attacks rather than getting up close and personal.
Increased Amp DMG.
Converts Amp DMG to Battery.
The Ranger variant of the Zaliska gun has a decent rate of fire, and also has a fun pace of play. Because of the increased Amp damage, and the way that Amp damage refills your ammo, you’re able to cycle back and forth between your Amp and your Rail pretty continuously.
The Rail’s description implies that it’s mean to kill in one shot. This sometimes works on smaller enemies, but not always. It definitely won’t work on big bads though, so be careful and use the one-shot technique sparingly.

Scatter
Convert 25 percent of AMP DMG to battery.
The Diamond Shot comes in many different varieties, but even the meat and potatoes version of it is highly effective. The wide spread of fire, which moves in a diamond pattern, is ideal for close-quarters combat.
This means, if you like to get up close and personal most of the time, you can actually bring your Rail into the encounter without sacrificing attack power. Some Rails only really work at a decent range, but not this one.

Compact
Deals ten percent more DMG to flying enemies.
A lot of the time in Hyper Light Breaker, as you’re resetting and going throughits roguelike challenges, you’ll be using your Rails to take down enemies you can’t reach from the ground. There are plenty of flying enemies to be found in the Overgrowth.
That’s why the Flying Magrex is not to be overlooked. With extra damage done to flying enemies, this will ensure that you may take out pesky fliers in your periphery in no time flat. Get into the habit of equipping this Rail if you’re struggling to deal with flying combatants.

Increased CRIT chance by eight percent.
The DZR has an interesting fire pattern. It fires a three-round burst that’s good at a decently long range. This can be a little hard to master, particularly if you’re new to the roguelike genre or third-person shooters. But, if you can nail it, this Rail is highly effective.
The increased Critical Hit chance, in conjunction with certain Breakers and Sycoms, can mean you’re hitting crits more often than not. Sometimes, a clutch Critical Hit on a Crown or other boss might just be the exact thing you need in a moment of crisis.

Enemies take ten DMG after being crystalized.
Once again, the crystal impact of this weapon cannot be overstated – it’s just that helpful in AoE and crowd control situations. Additionally, this variation of the Shredder, with its wide scattershot fire rate, means you’ll be hitting plenty of targets during close quarters combat, like during extraction.
Generally speaking, Shredders are great Rails to pick up no matter their effect. So, if you see one out in the Overgrowth or back atthe Cursed Outpost, don’t hesitate to pick it up.

Increases DMG of close-range Rail shots by 20 percent.
Many variations of the Blunderbuss have tons of great perk options at their disposals. But, since the Rail is primarily designed for close-ranged combat, having the Gnasher effect, which increases damage of close-range shots by 20 percent, this Rail ends up having fantastic synergy with itself.
Blunderbuss' in general have a good rate of fire for combat in Hyper Light Breaker. Specific aiming and precision are not really the name of the game in the Overgrowth, so you’ll want to keep an eye out for Blunderbusses.

CRIT chance increases by two percent after every shot.
Increase DMG to heavy enemies.
Barrel Vents is a not-so-common effect that, when paired with a line weapon like the DZR, can be super effective. Since the DZR fires a quick, three-round burst, the Critical Hit chance stacking effect tends to rack up super quickly, particularly in situations where there’s a lot of enemies on the field.
Also, heavy enemies can be a pain sometimes out in the Overgrowth, so having any weapon (but mostly a DZR) that can do increased damage to them is a surefire boon that might just save your cycle in the long run.
