In the latest case of games inspiring people to do things, one gamer has elected to pursue a career in law because ofMultiVersus— theunderperforming Super Smash Bros.-like fighter featuring the many IP owned by Warner Bros. Yes, you read that right. But it wasn’t Bugs Bunny that helped them make the career choice, but rather what was happening in the game that did it.
Greed Will Change A Man
Meet WhyDo, a passionate gamer, amateur YouTube content creator, and, now, a soon-to-be student of law. In a post shared on Twitter, the creator revealed that the “greed” of MultiVersus convinced them to research IP law and consumer protection. Lo and behold, five months later they were officially accepted to the law school of their dreams.
“MultiVersus was so evil that it altered the course of my life.”
Their original video, aptly titled “LeBron James Smash Bros. Is a Very Fun, Very Evil Disaster” totals over an hour of well-researched study into microtransactions.
Following that video, they said they signed up for the October LSAT, and “sorta locked myself in my room full-time doing hyperbolic time chamber studying.” The motivation? “Hating.”
MultiVersus may not have done a lot of things well, but if there is anything positive to take away from it all, well, it convinced someone to become a lawyer. Even “evil” games can be forces of good, it seems.
