Summary
A talentedNinja Gaidenfan has created a mod forNinja Gaiden 2 Blackthat brings it closer to the original game by increasing the enemy count, delimbs, and more.
Considering the fact that it’s beennearly 13 years since the last mainline Ninja Gaiden game released, it’s a little hard to believe how big of a comeback the series is about to make. Following thealready exciting reveal of Ninja Gaiden: Rageboundat The Game Awards,Xbox announced Ninja Gaiden 4and ashadowdropped remake of Ninja Gaiden 2.
While most Izuna Droppers were just happy to see Ryu and the best game in the series return with a fresh coat of paint, 2 Black did cause a bit of a stirdue to its similarities to Sigma over the hard-as-nails original release. Sigma is infamous for its reduced enemy count, cut-down delimbing, and more, which made some fans annoyed that the remake follows it so closely.
Ninja Gaiden 2 Black Is Closer To The Original Game Thanks To A Mod
Ninja Gaiden 2 Blackdoesfix some of Sigma’s problemsand is basically a middle-ground between it and the original game, but most hardcore fans don’t like what’s been kept from the controversial PS3 port. If the lower number of enemies and their increased health bug you as much as most Ninja Gaiden vets, you’ll be happy to know there’s a mod that changes that.
As pointed out by Twitter user SultanHayabusa1, Nexus Mods creator FiendBusas recently shared anambitious mod for Ninja Gaiden 2 catchily titled “FB-NG2B-UE”. While the name doesn’t give much away, the mod basically brings Ninja Gaiden 2 Black closer to the original game by changing a number of key things.
The main thing that the mod does is change 2 Black’s enemy spawns to what they were in the original Xbox 360 release. This meansmore enemies that are usually tougher variants than the basic ninjas thrown at you in the remake. Take the opening scene, for example, which now contains way more enemies to deal with and even has some with talons that don’t show up till later in Black and Sigma.
I’ve already beaten Black on PS5, but this mod makes itawfullytempting to do a new playthrough on PC. You just can’t beat how wild the OG game gets.
That’s not all, though, as there are a number of options that can be changed through the config menu, such as increasing the rate of delimbing, making the Guillotine Throw a guaranteed delimb when it’s near a wall, allowing the camera to be moved during an Izuna Drop, and way, waymore.
