Summary

Team Ninjahas announced that an update is planned forNinja Gaiden 2 Blackin mid-February that will include some balance adjustments as well as “additional content”.

Last week, Team Ninja andXboxdecided todrop a bombshell on the starving Ninja Gaiden fanbase by announcing both Ninja Gaiden 4and aremake of Ninja Gaiden 2 during the first Xbox Developer Direct of the year.Black has mostly been very positively received by the community for being a stunning middle groundbetween the OG game and Sigma, but it’s not without issue.

One element of the remake that’s been a little disappointingis the amount of removed content from both the original version of Ninja Gaiden 2 and its Sigma re-releases. We’ve already covered that in detail, but a lot of bonus elements from the game’s past aren’t present in the remake, something that will hopefully change in the near future.

Upcoming Ninja Gaiden 2 Black Patch Will Add “Additional Features”

Yesterday, Team Ninja tweeted and confirmed that an issue with the Microsoft Store version of Ninja Gaiden 2 Black had been fixed with a patch. So far, so normal, but the really interesting part of that tweet is when the studio confirms that “based on the feedback received”, a whole new update is being planned for release in mid-February.

That update will not only include some balance adjustments, but it’ll also be coming with “additional features”. It’s not clear right now what those features and balance adjustments are, but considering how much talk there’s been about the removed content, there’s some hope that Team Ninja is adding a few bits back in through updates.

As for the balance adjustments, that’s really not clear from the tweet -a lot of fans have been asking for a higher enemy count, so that’s a possibility that would certainly elevate Black.

We’ll have to wait and see until February to find out what’s coming in the Ninja Gaiden 2 Black update, but at the very least it seems like new costumes and perhaps modes could be introduced. At the very least,we know that Team Ninja is listening to the fans and is aware of what they want to see.
