Following Kyurem’s release four and a half years ago, both Black Kyurem and White Kyurem will finally be joining the game.
Black Kyurem And White Kyurem Are Coming To Pokemon Go
Black and White Kyurem were accidentally released in Pokemon Go in December 2023 as part of the game’s Go Battle League before swiftly being removed from the game and players' accounts. Now, they’ll be joining the game for real.
Players will be able to receive Black Kyurem and White Kyurem through a new mechanic called Pokemon Fusion. Both alternate forms of Kyurem will appear in five-star raids, which, once defeated, will offer players the chance to catch the regular unfused version ofKyurem.
Upon defeat, players will also earn something called Fusion Energy. This is what players will use to fuse their regular Kyurem withZekromandReshiramin order to receive the Black and White versions. Fusions will cost 1,000 Volt Fusion Energy, 30 Kyurem Candy, and 30 Zekrom Candy to receive a Black Kyurem, and 1,000 Blaze Fusion Energy, 30 Kyurem Candy, and 30 Reshiram Candy to get a White Kyurem.
For the competitive Pokemon Go players out there, Black Kyurem and White Kyurem will learn special attacks. Upon fusion, Black Kyurem will learn the Charged Attack Freeze Shock, provided it already knows Glaciate, and White Kyurem that know Glaciate will learn Freeze Burn.
Alongside the two new Kyurem forms, Pokemon Go Tour: Unova will also debut Shiny Meloetta through Masterwork Research, alongside first-time appearances for shiny Deerling and Sawsbuck, Maractus, Sigilyph, and Bouffalant. Shiny Unown, which spell Unova, will also appear during the event window.
