Pokemon Is Adding Ekans And Seperior To Its Life Size Plushes

There are a few different waysPokemonfans can try to replicate what it might feel like to have some of the series' monsters accompany you in real life. One way of doing that is by picking up some of Pokemon’s life-size plushes, and two more have been added to the growing collection to celebrate the Chinese Year of the Snake, but there’s a catch.

The first images ofa “life-size” Serperior plushand what appears to bea slightly smaller Ekans plushhave beenshared by PokeJungle. The reason they’ve been shared by an unofficial account is because, for now at least,the plushes are only available in China. That makes sense what with it being the Chinese Year of the Snake, but it’s still disappointing that these plushes aren’t getting a worldwide release from the jump.

According to Princess Snivy, orders are already open for the plushes in China withthe Serperior costing 1,999 yuan ($274). It’s unclear exactly how much plush you’ll get for that price. Although Pokemon’s larger plushes are often described as being life-size, with Serperior measuring in at almost 11 feet long in the games, I’d be very surprised to find out this particular plush is canonically accurate.

Only Chinese Trainers Can Buy Them For Now, Though

Even though Ekans is only six and a half feet long in Pokemon canon, I’d be even more surprised to discover its new plush is the same length as its video game counterpart.The smaller Ekans plush costs 399 yuanwhich is a little less than $55. You’re almost certainly not getting almost seven feet of plush for that price, even though that price will almost certainly be increased if it ever finds its way to the US Pokemon Center.

Other life-size Pokemon plush prices prove that, particularlythe Gardevoir one that was released last week. The Gardevoir plush, which at five feet tall really is the same size as the Pokemon in the games, costs $320 in Japan. That’s likely why Pokemon gave everyone a few days before it revealedthe exact same plush in the US costs $450, similar to other life-size plushes and slightly cheaper than Altaria and Porygon’s biggest plush options.

Pokemon hasn’t leaned into the Year of the Snake much at all so far which is surprising considering how many snake-like creations it has to lean on. Instead, it has dubbed 2025 the Year of Eevee with Prismatic Evolutions' release coupled withthe reveal of some new Eevee plushesto kick off the year.
