Summary
Pokemonhas a lot of plush types to keep track of. If you like them big and soft then grab a Squishmallow. If you prefer them even bigger than that then some Pokemon have been turned into massive, rather expensive, lifesize plushes. If your ideal Pokemon plush is one that makes that Pokemon fluffier than you ever thought possible, the Comfy Friends collection is for you, and new additions are coming to the range very soon.
Pokemon has declared 2025 the year of Eevee and has hit the ground running. ThePokemon TCG’s first set of the year is Prismatic Evolutions, a highly sought-after expansion that centers around Eevee and its evolved forms. Some Eevee-themed doll plusheshave already been released this year too, and thanks toan update from PokeJungle, we now know a few Comfy Friends plushes will be joining them.
Coming to Pokemon’s Comfy Friends collection onFebruary 1, 2025, are Eevee, Espeon, and Umbreon. Not only fluffy plush versions of the Pokemon trio, but likely slightly bigger than Pokemon’s standard plushes too. The dimensions of the new additions haven’t been confirmed, but other Pokemon in the Comfy Friends range measure anywhere between 13 and 18 inches. They certainly look pretty big in the photos below.

That does mean they tend to be slightly more expensive than standard plushes too. Not only are they bigger, but they’re also higher quality than what are, in Pokemon’s defense, already pretty high-quality plushes. Again, no details regarding prices have been confirmed, but if they are eventually released outside of Japan, Eevee, Umbreon, and Espeon’s Comfy Friends plusheswill likely retail for $39.99, potentially $44.99which, as it stands, is the ceiling for Comfy Friends.
Yes, I know, I’ve not touched on the biggest downside of all to this reveal. As is often the case for Pokemon merch, the new Comfy Friends plushes are, for now at least, exclusively being released in Japan. Eevee, Umbreon, and Espeon will be available via Japan’s Pokemon Center site later this week, and while there will be ways to get them shipped, having them sent to the US and elsewhere will up their cost considerably.
While it’s never guaranteed that Pokemon merch will be released outside of Japan, that these new plushes will eventually find their way to the US Pokemon Center feels like a fairly safe bet. Not only are Eevee and its Eeveelutions very popular, but it’s the Year Of Eevee the world over. It seems silly not to give Pokemon fans the chance to buy as much Eevee merch as possible throughout 2025, wherever they are in the world.
