24 hoursafter it leaked,Pokemon Trading Card Game Pockethas confirmed that its next expansion, Space-Time Smackdown, will be focused on Generation 4’s Dialga and Palkia.
The expansion looks set to include dozens of Pokemon that made their debuts inPokemon Diamond and Pearlwhen it releases later this month.
Space-Time Smackdown Expansion Is Coming To Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket
As opposed toGenetic Apex’s, Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket’s debut expansion, three booster pack choices, Space-Time Smackdown will only have two, once centered around Dialga and the other Palkia.
The generation’s two featured Legendary Pokemon will feature heavily, each getting their own ex card in the game.
The Steel-type Dialga ex will have 150 HP and two moves: Metallic Turbo, which does 30 damage and allows you to attach two Metal energies to a benched Pokemon, and Heavy Impact, which hits for 100 damage off four total energy.
Palkia will have a Water-type ex card, again with 150 HP. Its first move, Slash, deals 30 damage from one energy, and its second, Dimensional Storm, does 150 damage to the Active Pokemon and 20 damage to every one of the opponent’s Benched Pokemon for four energy, three of which have to be discarded. It’s likely to be aGyarados competitor, with Palkia having the added benefit of not needing to be evolved.
Other cards revealed in the set include Turtwig, Chimchar, and Piplup, Diamond and Pearl’s three starters, Pachirisu ex, Leafeon, Honchkrow, Gible, Cresselia, and a brand-new Cynthia card, which hints that Garchomp and Togekiss cards will also be added.
The video reveals that the expansion will be live in less than a week, dropping on Wednesday, January 29, withtrading finally coming to the game the day before.
WithMythical Island, a mini-expansion, having such an impact onthe game’s meta, it will be interesting to see how it evolves with Space-Time Smackdown.
