Summary

Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket’strading functionis still not in a good place. While DeNA is starting to hand out trade tokens a little more liberally, ultimately, the cost to trade four-diamond and one-star rarity cards is still very, very high and it effectively stops many casual players from making full use of the feature.

While DeNAhas promised it is looking into ways to improve trading, the feature has seen no real changes since it launched.

However, while trading has been mostly doom and gloom since it launched, there’s a bit of good news for players, as, with the launch of the Triumphant Light expansion, you are now free to trade your unwanted Space-Time Smackdown cards.

Space-Time Smackdown Cards Can Now Be Traded In Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket

This is the first time that a new expansion has launched since trading has been live in Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket, and it was unclear whether that meant previous expansions could be traded with friends. The good news is, it does.

It’s likely you’ve still got cards to collect from the Space-Time Smackdown expansion, given howstressful the TCG Pocket release schedule is, so now is certainly a good time to grab them. That being said, you’ll still be paying the extortionate trade token cost that has plagued the game.

In a statement, DeNA said, “Thanks to your feedback, we understand that the restrictions put in place are preventing players from being able to casually enjoy the feature as intended. We are actively investigating ways to improve the feature to address these concerns.”

While the flurry of free trade tokens has been nice, fundamental changes are still required. Given the fact that players aremaking money selling their digital trading cardson eBay, despite therestrictions being put in place to stop exactly that, DeNA probably needs to go back to the drawing board.
