Naturally, given the supply issues the TCG has been facing at the moment, which have prompted The Pokemon Company toissue a statement declaring more stock is coming, fans are worried.
Over on the Pokemon TCGsubreddit, collectors have already begun to voice their concerns. One usersaid, “Hella dope, but going to be impossible to buy unless you’re part robot,” and the product wascalledthe “Super Premium Scalper Bundle” by another.
The fact that the TCG is in this state, where genuine collectors are worrying about getting products, is not a good look for Pokemon. Prismatic Evolutions alone wasscalped long before its release,andretail stores have beenaccused of scalpingtheir own listings. Things aren’t looking any better for the upcoming Journey Together expansion either, withproducts already being sold for well above RRP.
The scalping is indicative of a wider problem within the community, which has seenindividual cards rise in price by more than 150 percent.
