Prismatic Evolutions ETB Promo Is Already Selling For $100
Pokemon Center Elite Trainer Boxes are known for having an extra two packs of cards and a promo with an exclusive Pokemon Center stamp. So far, these promos have featured Charmander, Snorlax, and Mimikyu and, due to their limited availability, have quickly become some of the most expensive cards in theScarlet and Violetera.
The limited availability, hype around Prismatic Evolutions, and the fact the card features the incredibly popular Eevee has proven a perfect storm for those trying to make a quick buck, with scalpers listing the promo ahead of its release for extortionate sums of money.
Listings for the Eevee promo have been live on eBay US for a while, with copies of thecard selling for over $100. For context, the ETB costs $60. Things are no different in the UK either, with one copy of the cardselling for more than £80($104) and another copy listed for £90 ($116).
The promo isn’t the only thing being scalped either, with listings for the Elite Trainer Box itselfselling for over $250 on eBay USand£150 ($188) on eBay UK.
With Prismatic Evolutions bearing stark similarities to Evolving Skies, a set thathas a card worth over $1,000 bucks, it’s no surprise a certain contingent of people are trying to capitalize on demand and FOMO, and it represents a wider problem the Pokemon TCG is facing right now.
