The First Berserker: Khazanhas many ways for you to get ahead of the curve, withSkillsand Stats being amongst the more crucial ones. However, there is another essential element that can often be overlooked, which are the manyPhantomsyou can unlock in the game.

Phantoms are a tremendous way to get a slight boost in targeted areas of your gameplay, such as Stamina Recovery or Frontal Assault Damage. And they grow stronger over time, making them worth seeking out and equipping. There are lots of Phantoms in the game, but which one is the best of the best?

A look at the portrait of Atlante the Precise in The First Berserker: Khazan.

8Atlante

The Precise

Atlante the Precisewill be one of the last Phantoms you obtain in The First Berserker: Khazan, and while her Phantom Effect is quite good, it pales in comparison to the rest of the lineup. The Javelin is an excellent utility in the game that can be tremendously strong for clearing out regions. However, dedicating an entire Phantom to increasing its damage just doesn’t seem worth it.

If her Awakened Effects were a bit better, she would likely be slightly higher, but it’s still tough to recommend her over any of the others unless you are a fiend with the Javelin and use it for every encounter. Even then, we would just suggest spending Skill Points on upgrading the Javelin over this!

A look at the portrait of Constantine the Devoted in The First Berserker: Khazan.

7Constantine

The Devoted

As you progress through the game, you will eventually unlock the ability to enter Phantom Form, which serves as your Ultimate Attack of sorts. While this is a tremendously powerful action, the gauge builds pretty fast as is, so having a Phantom increase it even quicker seems like a waste.

However, if you want to live in this form,Constantine the Devotedmay be for you. We think he lacks what some of the other Phantoms offer in terms of practical use while in combat. Overall, it’s not the worst offering, but it’s not like the meter builds at a snail’s pace without it, placing him near the bottom of the list!

A look at the portrait of Veronika the Advocate in The First Berserker: Khazan.

6Veronika

The Advocate

This Phantom is a bit of a tricky one, asVeronika the Advocateis likely the best offering for newcomers to the genre. She will buff the damage of your summoned Spirit of Advocacy, allowing them to deal substantially more damage in boss encounters.

Not only that, but when Awakened, if a Spirit of Advocacy dies, you will receive a Netherworld Energy charge, giving you an extra heal for the rest of the encounter. The problem is, not everyone uses summons, and they’re kind of not greatunless you upgrade them substantially via Daphrona in The Crevise.Due to that, she’s near the bottom.

A look at the portrait of Adelhaide the Philanthropic in The First Berserker: Khazan.

5Adelhaide

The Philanthropic

Health is crucial to any soulslike, which remains the case in The First Berserker: Khazan, soAdelhaide the Philanthropicis a relatively fine Phantom overall, but she isn’t needed that much in the grand scheme of things. She buffs the potency of your Netherworld Energy charges, allowing you to replenish more HP than usual, which seems great on paper.

But even without Adelhaide’s help, your Netherworld Energy charges replenish quite a bit of health and can also be upgraded by exchanging Soulstones with Daphrona in The Crevice for a slight boost every now and again. While her Awakened Effects are nice, she just doesn’t make sense to focus on all that much, especially early on!

A look at the portrait of Maximilian the Impenetrable in The First Berserker: Khazan.

4Maximilian

The Impenetrable

Maximilian the Impenetrableis up next and offers a tremendously strong Phantom Effect, decreasing the amount of Stamina you lose when Guarding incoming attacks. However, while this is undoubtedly useful, there are very few situations where guarding through entire attack strings is the correct answer.

With that said, Maximilian’s Awakened Effects are excellent, which boosts him toward the top of the list. While not the best offering in the game, if you find yourself running out of Stamina a lot because you’re Guarding a lot, you may’t really go wrong with this Phantom!

A look at the portrait of Conrad the Swift in The First Berserker: Khazan.

3Conrad

The Swift

Following that, we now haveConrad the Swift,a Phantom that lowers the amount of Stamina it costs to perform a Dodge, making it perfect for players who love to rely on Brink Dodges to get in and deal damage. Like Guarding, Dodging is a key aspect of The First Berserker: Khazan, so you can’t go wrong rolling with Conrad.

His Awakened Effects are also excellent, increasing your overall damage output when executing Brink Dodges, which makes this a Dual Wield and Spear wielder’s dream. If you love being more agile and nimble, then this is your go-to Phantom!

A look at the portrait of Wulfric the Resilient in The First Berserker: Khazan.

2Wulfric

The Resilient

Wulfric the Resilientfollows, serving as our penultimate choice thanks to their ability to raise the overall damage output of Frontal Assault attacks. Essentially, this means that your damage when attacking an enemy’s frontside will be increased, which will be most of the time in The First Berserker: Khazan.

While this benefits all weapon types quite drastically, Greatsword wielders will be tremendously strong as Wulfric continue to level up, making this the best choice for them by a lot. The Awakened Effects aren’t the best, but they’re certainly not the worst, which allows him to sit near the top of the list!

A look at the portrait of Keshta the Unyielding in The First Berserker: Khazan.

1Keshta

The Unyielding

Finally, we haveKeshta the Unyielding, one of the best Phantoms in the game, despite being the first one you can obtain. Stamina is a crucial aspect, and having it regenerate substantially faster makes him take the throne as the best Phantom in The First Berserker: Khazan.

Furthermore, the Awakened Effects for this Phantom are incredible, restoring your Stamina by 15 percent when you Exhaust an enemy and granting you 30 percent Stamina Recovery if you get Exhausted. This benefits all weapon types across the board, making it worthy of the number one spot!
