Summary

RuneScape: Dragonwilds has just been unveiled, giving us another game as part of theRuneScapeseries. Unlike the mainMMO, this will be an open world survival game, sharing the same setting.

RuneScape: Dragonwilds is also developed byJagex, and will be based on the island of Ashenfall. It is described as offering “co-operative survival crafting” gameplay, we can still team up with others just as we can in RuneScape proper, or go it alone.

New RuneScape Game Revealed, And It’s An Open World Survival Title

RuneScape: Dragonwilds will launch in early access this Spring

The game’s synopsis gives us a hint as to what we can expect from RuneScape: Dragonwilds:

On RuneScape’s forgotten continent of Ashenfall, dragons have awoken. Gather, build, skill and craft to survive in this co-operative survival crafting game. Only by mastering survival and uncovering ancient secrets can you hope to slay the Dragon Queen - alone or with allies.

We don’t have a release date for Dragowilds just yet, but we are told that it will enter early access this spring. That means it could be with us very soon, even if it isn’t ready for its full launch just yet.

However, some RuneScape fans have actually already played Dragonwilds, as Jagex CEO Jon Bellamy wants to hear back from the community on this one. “We’ve already conducted closed alpha tests with some of our closest community members, and we’ll be listening to player feedback when building the game throughout Early Access,” he explains. “We’ve built an entirely new team filled with industry veterans who are focused on making sure that RuneScape: Dragonwilds sits naturally within the RuneScape franchise, and a game that is loved by both our biggest RuneScape fans and entirely new players alike.”

Jagex is planning to show more of the game off on Twitch on April 15.
