Spoilers for Sonic the Hedgehog 3 ahead

Summary

Sonic the Hedgehog 3loosely adapted the events ofSonic Adventure 2, but the general gist is there. Shadow is awakened, he fights Sonic, he realises revenge is bad, and then he “dies”. However, there were quite a few changes made to accommodate the different lore and tone of the films, and one of them is the continued presence ofEggman’s sidekick, Agent Stone.

Sonic 3seemingly kills off Eggman too, just in case theycan’t get Jim Carrey back to reprise the role for a fourth time. This leaves Agent Stone in an awkward position - can he go on without his beloved doctor? Well, according to his actor, Lee Majdoub, he can, and he’s definitely up for reprising the role without Carrey.

Lee Majdoub Could Come Back For Sonic 4 Without Jim Carrey

Majdoub wouldn’t mind appearing in a spin-off either

“I would love to. I’d be interested in seeing what the story would be, and how we would navigate it,” Majdoub tells us in an interview. “I personally think that [Stone is] capable of a lot more than what we’ve seen so far. And I personally think that Stone probably isn’t going to take the loss of Robotnik that well if Jim’s not coming back, or if the character of Robotnik isn’t coming back.”

However, that doesn’t mean that he doesn’t see the potential. “I’ve seen fans talking about wanting a Stone and Shadow spin-off, a Stone and Tails spin-off, and I think those could work for sure.”

Of course, so much of Stone’s character is associated with Robotnik right now. Many fans even ship the two together, something that Majdoubonce again endorsedin our interview.

“I love it,” he smiles. “The fans know I’m fully behind them on it. I’ve always told people I’ll support your art, I’ll support anything as long as it’s positive and it doesn’t hurt people.”
