Each stage has so much going on at the same time that it’s easy to get lost. Details such as NPC walking around or timed events make it feel like the situation could change at any moment. So to get your target, you need to be creative instead of getting behind them and getting the shot.

If you’re done with Sniper Elite: Resistance, then you should check out Zombie Army Trilogy. This game compiles the first three titles in Sniper Elite’s zombie-centric spinoffs, allowing you to get those fantastic sniping animations on the undead.

This game has co-op, allowing you to travel through a zombie-infested Europe with up to four friends. While stealth might be secondary in this spinoff, all the weapons have that Sniper Elite feel to them as you aim for headshots andsurvive sudden swarms of the undead.

There is something about the way weapons look and feel when you use them in third-person. If you’re looking for similar mechanics but an entirely different aesthetic, then Strange Brigade offers a unique mix of new and familiar gameplay.

This time you’re fighting supernatural enemies from mummies to scorpions with that vintage adventure genre look to it. While not focused on sniping, the gunplay resembles that of Sniper Elite: Resistance’s secondary weapons, such as handguns and machine guns. You also get the additional joys of activating ancient traps with a well-placed shot that takes down all of your enemies.

The main goal of the mission may be what you’re constantly moving towards, but Sniper Elite: Resistance makes the journey just as important. Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain has similar gameplay since you often need to walk a bit before you get to the area where your objective is.

This never feels like downtime though, since it offers a multitude of terrain to get through. One minute you can be tackling outposts from a distance; the next, you’ll be trapped between the tight spaces of a building hoping that an enemy doesn’t spot you.

You always have your main objective looming over you of taking down some truly bad people. How you sneak into the area and complete your mission is up to you whether you want to get straight to the point or take some time to admire the scenery.
