Summary

While challenging and questing with them is an important gameplay mechanic inDisney Lorcana, items do a lot of the heavy lifting as well.

Items can be played and exerted to perform specific functions throughout the match. Some help you generate lore while others can help you draw cards. Others even help you fill up your inkwell so you have more ink to use for bigger plays. Items are important, but there are some that do plenty more on your path to victory.

10Devil’s Eye Diamond

Pain Into Profits

If you’re playing a Ruby deck, then odds are your characters are going to be challenging a lot. This also means there will be plenty of damage going both ways. Devil’s Eye Diamond can be played for two ink and can help you gain additional lore each turn.

When one of your characters takes damage, you’re able to exert this item to gain one lore. WhileRuby decks don’t focus on items too much, having items across different ink colors offers unique ways to slide in tech.

9Sapphire Coil

Weakening The Opposition

Weakening characters is a good way to prevent any damage you may receive back when challenging them. With some decks already being filled to the brim with ways of ramping your inkwell, Sapphire Coil offers another method of controlling the board.

Without exerting it, Sapphire Coil lets you reduce the strength of a character by two whenever you put a card into your inkwell. Seeing as Sapphire has many ways of getting this done, it can severely weaken your opponent’s characters, making them sitting ducks if they become open for a challenge.

8Pawpsicle

A Sneaky Trick

Pawpsicle is an important card in its own deck. Not only does it draw a card, but you can banish it to heal one of your characters. Aside from the draw, being able to heal can let certain cards you want on the board stay just a bit longer.

This card puts in a lot of work with Tamatoa, So Shiny. With Tamatoa fetching Pawpsicle back and the card itself having such a low cost, it is easy to stack your side of the field with multiple copies of Pawpsicle.

7Great Stone Dragon

Ramping Up Your Ink

Sapphire deckslove cards that can quickly increase the range of their inkwell. This often means you can pay for higher-cost cards earlier in the game. Great Stone Dragon turns your characters in the discard into resources you can use.

Inkable or not, when Great Stone Dragon is exerted, you can put one of those characters into your inkwell. You’ll need to wait a bit before they become active in your inkwell. Having a way to get more ink without exerting characters to do so gives you more flexibility during your turn.

6Amethyst Chromicon

A Risky Venture

Amethysthas its very own card drawing item that fits perfectly in an aggro deck. When your goal is to end the game as quickly as possible by generating lore, the late game doesn’t matter. You either get it done or your opponent gets enough ink to beat you down later on.

Amethyst Chromicon is that all or nothing gambit that comes out at two ink. you may exert it to have you and your opponent draw a card. If you’re confident in your ability to end the game fast, then letting your opponent get a draw is not the worst downside for this item.

5Lantern

Sending A Signal For Stronger Characters

Ramping your inkwell is one way to pay for higher-cost cards earlier. Another way is to reduce the cost of those cards in general. This is the game plan behind the Amber item, Lantern. Exert Lantern and the next character you play will cost one less ink.

Stacking copies of Lantern allows even bigger characters to hit the field without depleting your Inkwell. Since it only costs two ink to play this card in the first place, getting it out as soon as possible is crucial.

4Fishbone Quill

Ink Twice Per Turn

Fishbone Quill is even better than Great Stone Dragon, since it skips the part where you need to have something in the discard for the extra ink. This item comes out at three ink, and you can start using it right away to ink an extra card from your hand each turn.

This card also lets you ink cards that aren’t normally inkable. So if you have a card that you simply can’t use at the moment, Fishbone Quill gives them an alternative purpose as ink.

3Fortisphere

A Quick Draw And A Keyword

Fortisphere is an excellent early game item. While each use of this Steel item can only be used once, it proves useful as soon as you have just one ink in your inkwell. On play, you can immediately draw a card. Then, you can pay one ink to banish Fortisphere and give one of your characters Bodyguard.

Due to its low cost, it finds itself in plenty of Steel decks where just using items in general provides synergy with their other cards. So not only is it a cheap option for drawing cards, but it can provide some protection when necessary.

2Maurice’s Workshop

The Best Draw Engine

If you run plenty of items in your deck, then Maurice’s Workshop lets you dig even deeper into your deck through draws. While this item is in play, you can pay one ink each time you play an item. By doing so, you get another draw on the spot.

Since some decks just play items all the time, Maurice’s Workshop fits in perfectly. It gives each of your plays an added effect without having to exhaust itself in the process. Soon you may craft your hand into the perfect response for your opponent.

1Lucky Dime

Pushing For Game

Lucky Dime is one of the best items that Sapphire has in its arsenal. This card was first introduced inInto the Inklands, and is a powerful staple for item-focused decks since getting it on the board often means you’re close to ending the game.

Lucky Dime lets you choose a character and gain lore equal to what they normally would get for questing. With item in play and a high questing character on the board, you’re essentially making an aggressive push to claim victory.
