Summary
Star Wars Unlimited: Jump To Lightspeed has 18 different leaders to choose from. Some are different versions of characters you are already familiar with, while others make their debut in the card game in this set. With a good leader in play, your deck has a better chance of flipping the war on your opponent and going in for a swift victory.
One of the main gimmicks of Jump To Lightspeed is that many cards can be used as pilots. This extends to the leaders as some work best when they are inside a vehicle. This gives them buffs and unlocks abilities that can devastate your opponent’s units.

10Han Solo, Never Tell Me The Odds
A Leader With Longevity
Leaders that ask specific things of your deckbuilding often become sleeper agents. Han Solo, Never Tell Me The Odds wants you to have more units with diverse odd costs. See the top card of your deck and if the costs are odd and have different numbers, your unit deals an additional point of damage.
When Han Solo deploys, you may ready a resource for every odd-cost unit and upgrade on your field. With proper prep, you can keep your plays going by getting that second chance to play a card that you want on the board right away.
9Asajj Ventress, I Work Alone
Using Grit To Beef Up Power
Grit is a powerful keywordthat lets your unit gain power equal to the amount of damage it has taken. This is most useful when you have a unit that has plenty of health to spare. Asajj Ventress helps your other Grit-focused characters power up by letting you scratch them.
This small damage of one also bounces towards an enemy unit in the same arena. When Asajj Ventress is deployed, she gives a vehicle a buff of three power and four health. She also grants them the Grit keyword, allowing you to get an additional buff if that unit has already taken some damage.
8Boba Fett, Any Methods Necessary
Putting Indirect Damage To Work
Indirect damage forces your opponent to choose something on their field to take the hit. It is also unavoidable. Boba Fett, Any Methods Necessary lets you deal one indirect damage when you deal non-combat damage.
When deployed, Boba Fett comes in strong by dealing four damage across units on the board. you’re able to utilize this in a number of ways, such as defeating units, spreading damage to turn on abilities, or getting rid of shields by tapping them slightly.
7Wedge Antilles, Leader Of Red Squadron
Get Your Pilots In Action
You’re going to want to stack your deck with ships and pilots if you want to make the most of Wedge Antilles, Leader of Red Squadron. This is because Wedge Antilles lets you play pilots for one less resource than usual.
This lets you stack your arena with ships and upgrade them faster by using his action. When deployed, Wedge Antilles will buff a ship by three power and four health. The resource reduction ability now goes live whenever you attack with a ship piloted by this card.
6Poe Dameron, I Can Fly Anything
Eject And Fly Another Ship
Poe Dameron, I Can Fly Anything isa fast and aggressive leaderfor red decks to start utilizing. It can come out as early as turn two and buff one of your weaker ships so you can immediately start putting pressure on your opponent.
As if that wasn’t enough already, Poe Dameron can jump from ship to ship, making him tricky to pin down. Just when you thought you could be rid of him, he’s in another ship giving it a buff. This makes him an interesting leader to try ejecting from the cockpit and make the most of his effects.
5Luke Skywalker, Hero Of Yavin
Bounce Or Fight, No Inbetween
Luke Skywalker is a great red leader since it lets you gain additional damage whenever you attack with a Fighter unit. As such, he also likes piloting Fighters when deployed. Coming out at six resources, he upgrades a unit with four power and five health.
While piloting a Fighter, you also dish out an additional three damage to a unit whenever you attack. This leads to some pretty aggressive plays where you can spread damage around and keep other units at bay. It also has immunity from being defeated through card effects.
4Admiral Piett, Commanding The Armada
Send In The Armada
With Admiral Piett, Commanding The Armada as your leader, it won’t be long before your opponent feels the full might of the Empire. You can exhaust him to reduce the cost of one of your Capitol ships by one. The real fun begins when you deploy him.
Coming out at five resources, Admiral Piett lets you keep playing Capitol Ships for two less resources. This time you don’t need to exhaust him to make the deal happen, it happens passively. With seven health, you can assemble an entire army in no time.
3Grand Admiral Thrawn, …How Unfortunate
A Man A The Plan
Some units are able to kick off additional effects when they get defeated. Grand Admiral Thrawn, … How Unfortunate lets you strategically use your On Defeated effects by letting you apply them twice. This turns your defeats into an instrument for future victories.
There are plenty of cards out there that create tokens when they get defeated. Grand Admiral Thrawn will let you swarm the field by doubling the number of tokens generated. This is just one of its many uses and the more On Defeated effects there are, the better this leader can become.
2Darth Vader, Victor Squadron Leader
Swarm Your Opponent With Tie Fighters
Darth Vader gets another leader card in the form of Darth Vader, Victor Squadron Leader. This card can be exhausted to create a Tie Fighter token whenever you attack with a vehicle. This can let you get more bodies on the board.
When deployed, this gives one of your vehicles a massive upgrade of five for both power and health. You also get immediate access to two Tie Fighter tokens to use as backup for Darth Vader’s siege on your opponent’s units.
1Kazua Xiono, Best Pilot In The Galaxy
Turn Off Negative Effects
There are cards that have great effects when you play them, but negative costs that make you think twice about using them in combat. This is what makes Kazua Xiono, Best Pilot in The Galaxy such a useful leader.
You can turn off an ability whenever you want while still getting an additional action after doing so. Some abilities force you to discard cards, while others require you to pay a resource to keep them active. Kazua Xiono basically says no to all that by turning off these negative side effects.
