The Team Of The Year warm up kicks off with six different evolutions, and the first event is the TOTY Evo Star 1. This evolution takes you on a centre back’s journey to stardom by evolving their pace and giving them the elusive blue TOTY card inEA Sports FC 25Ultimate Team.
The TOTY evolution is free to unlock, so there’s no need to spend coins or FC points in order to get your hands on these cards. After unlocking, all you have to do is select the players or icons that meet the criteria and pass the two stage challenges. Player requirements are max 87 overall and max 86 pace.
6Sol Campbell
Sulzeer Jeremiah “Sol” Campbell is the first of many icons who gets a slight pace boost, and his TOTY card stats look solid on the defensive line. The Arsenal icon was one of thebest centre backs in the game, with superimposing defensive abilities, good positional sense, and great offensive and defensive mentality.
Once you complete the two challenges, Campbell will become an 89 rated defender with 89 physicality, 88 defending, 86 pace, 62 passing, 60 dribbling, 46 shooting, two-star skill moves, and three-star weak foot accuracy. With his newly evolved pace, keeping up with opponents who are closing in on his yard won’t be a problem.
5Alessandro Buongiorno
A centre back who is actively playing is the Italian defender, Alessandro Buongiorno, and he meets the requirements for this warm-up evolution. Throughout his stay in Napoli, his defensive work rate has been high, as he can successfully win tackles without causing a foul, and he can build up counter-attacks from the back.
The only difference between his Thunderstruck card and his TOTY card is the upgrade in his pace stats and also the aerial playstyle plus. With this playstyle, he can clear any dangerous crosses, and he’s also a good player to put in the box whenever you’re taking corner kicks, as you can put his great heading ability to good use.
4Lisandro Martínez
Lisandro Martínez is one hell of a player with an aggressive mindset, and a slight boost to his team of the week card makes him a brick wall on the defensive line. After putting him through the TOTY Evo Star 1, he now has an alternative position, which is as a defensive midfielder, alongside stats that support him in that position.
The Manchester United defender gets a next level TOTY card with 83 physicality, 87 defending, 86 pace, 80 passing, 81 dribbling, 61 shooting, three-star skill moves, and four-star weak foot accuracy. His evolved card now has the ability to change the dynamic of your team’s defense and midfield.
3Nemanja Vidić
Manchester United icon Nemanja Vidić is another legend who you can upgrade in this warm-up evolution, and his newly evolved pace combined with his defending attributes makes him a dominant force in the defensive line. He also has pretty decent attacking stats which supports him in the midfield position, but he’s more defensive-minded.
His card has an aerial playstyle, which makes him a goal threat on set pieces, and he also uses that playstyle to win aerial duels when dangerous crosses get into his box. His other playstyles are slide tackle, power header, block, bruiser, acrobatic, and relentless.
2Iván Córdoba
The Colombian hero, Iván Ramiro Córdoba Sepúlveda, is an energetic and versatile player, and his evolved card increases his pace, which makes him one of thefastest defenders in the game. His versatility allows him to play either as a wing back, or a full back, and thanks to this TOTY Evo Star 1 Evolution, he can now play as a defensive midfielder.
His newly evolved card has great defending stats and a pretty decent attacking attribute in ultimate team. Although he’s mainly a defender, you won’t really need to use his dribbling and shooting stats as all you’ll be doing is clearing the ball away from the box. His card can reach great heights thanks to his aerial playstyle plus, which allows him to win aerial duels.
1Raphaël Varane
Raphaël Xavier Varane is arguably one of thebest centre backs in the game currently, and a little boost to his pace will make the Frenchman an absolute brick wall in the back line. His career has been great as he has played for top European clubs like Real Madrid and Manchester United as their starting centre back.
