The Scaldra have a small selection of weapons for players to chase inWarframe. These modern weapons have been augmented with strange sci-fi tech, granting these weapons elemental base damage, unique passive effects, alternate fire modes, or simply better base stats.

Fans of slug shotguns will want to give the Purgator 1 a try, as this Scaldra weapon has some monstrous base damage and critical stats for its class. Today, we’ll be looking at how to get the Purgator 1, explain its unique Gas cloud gimmick, and showcase an endgame configuration that should work well in Steel Path content.

The Purgator 1 is a weapon with an identity crisis. This is supposed to be a semi-auto shotgun that uses slug projectiles, but it has a few strange quirks:

In practice, this is a semi-auto DMR with a minuscule ammo reserve. That’s likely due to the weapon’s unique passive:kills with the Purgator 1 spawn Gas clouds on the target’s corpse. It’s a pseudo-AoE weapon if you can kill targets with it, although the on-kill clouds hardly do any damage and are difficult to scale.

Purgator 1 Builds

We’ll be covering an endgame build for the Purgator 1 in this guide, focusing on scaling the weapon’s critical stats to make its on-kill Gas clouds a little easier to proc. Bear in mind that we are using Rifle Cannonade on this build, greatly limiting your fire rate. If you prefer faster-firing guns, drop this mod for Serration, Galvanized Aptitude, or a fire rate mod of your choosing.

Raw damage is the name of the game here.Primary Mercilessis a great starting point for scaling your damage and reload speed, but to push the base damage even further, we use Semi-Rifle Cannonade. While this prevents us from modifying the gun’s fire rate, the increased base damage and additional punch through more than make up for this.

Galvanized Diffusion is used to scale our multishot, as per usual. For critical stats, we’ve opted to useGalvanized ScopeandCritical Delayto substantially increase our critical chance. Since this fires slugs, landing headshots shouldn’t be a major issue.Vital Sensethen scales your critical damage.

Your last three mods should be elemental mods that are tailored for the faction you’re going to face. If you want a general setup, we recommendPrimed Cryo RoundsandMalignant Forceto create Viral. This will work well against most factions and greatly increase your damage whenever Viral status is applied. We then useRadiated Reloadmostly for the extra reload speed, although the added Radiation damage is useful against the Murmur faction.
