Seasonal Artifacts have been a part ofDestiny 2progression for years, and with Episode: Heresy, we’ve got another set to define how players make optimal builds for the duration of the Episode. The mods available in the Tablet of Ruin, as the Artifact is called, are a mix of debuffs and ability/weapon augments.
All the Artifact perks available have a place, especially the anti-Champion ones, but some are inherently more useful in more places than others. We’ll be going over all the best mods from the Tablet of Ruin here so you have a baseline for buildcrafting during Episode: Heresy.
The Best Tablet Of Ruin Artifact Perks
We’re consideringtwo factorswhenratingthebestTablet of Ruinperks. First is theirusability across the game. First, we’ll placegreater emphasisonperksthat have a place inboth solo and team playanddon’t requirethepurchase of DLCor engaging inendgamecontent.
Second, we’ll begrading each perkon its powerrelative to the other perksin its column as well as howversatilethey are inbuildcrafting. Perks that apply ablanket buff rate higherthan those that require more work to reach their full potential. We’velisted them in order of usefulness.
Best Tablet Of Ruin Column One Perks
Column oneremains theanti-Champion column, as it’s been since the beginning.Heresybrings back manyfan favoritesand adds interestingnew options.
Piercing Sidearms
Sidearmdamagestuns Barrier Champions.
This perk is one of thebest anti-Champion optionswith so many good Sidearms available. It’sespeciallygood withRocket-Assisted Frames, as itseffect doesn’t care what kind of ammogets used, only the weapon type.
Overload Machine Guns
SustainedMachine Gundamagestuns Overload Champions.
Machine Gunshave become afantastic supportive option, even as Heavy weapons.Guardianshavemore ways to deal damagewith abilities, and that’s opened up the Heavy slot, givingMGs more roomto shine.
Anti-Barrier Sniper Rifles
Sniper Rifledamagestuns Barrier Champions.
Gettingtoo closeto any enemy can be adeath sentenceinhigher-difficultycontent.Anti-BarrierSniper Riflesmakesremoving those infuriating Barrier Champions a breezefrom any distance.
Best Tablet Of Ruin Column Two Perks
Column twois filled withgood perks, but theeffects of twoof them arelocked behind endgameactivities. That leaves three workable choices.
Rapid precision hitsorfinal blows with Void weaponsgrantVolatile Rounds.
Ifboosted: Volatiledetonationsgiveclass ability energy.
Volatile Roundshave been aVoid build’s dreamsince they were introduced, and there areso manyfantastic Void weaponsin the sandbox. Add a vast selection of high-quality Void Machine Guns, andgetting Volatile rolling is a cinch.
Unraveling Orbs
Picking up aTangle or Orb of PowergrantsUnraveling Roundsto yourStrand weapons.
Access toStrandweaponsisn’t locked behind the Lightfall DLC, andUnraveling Roundsare a great source ofsupplementary damagethat also comes withintrinsic Anti-Barriereffects.
Overclock and Load
Increasedhandling and reload speedwhileAmplifiedor haveBolt Charge.
Arcclasses areall about speed. Havingthis perk activeensures yourArc weaponsareeasy to useand easy to top off,especiallyif your mainDPS option is Arc.
Best Tablet Of Ruin Column Three Perks
Everycolumn three perkisfantastic, but three require weapons locked behindendgame or DLCactivities to function consistently. That leavestwo perks with more universal valueor are simpler to work into builds.
Defeating enemieswithArc debuffs(Voltshot, blind, etc.) grantsBolt Chargestacks.
Ifboosted:Rapidly defeatingtargets withArc debuffscreates anOrb of Powerandhealsslightly.
Arcis one of the two elements thatgot the most love in the Tablet of Ruin. If youbuild into an Arcsubclass or within Prismatic, you caneasilyhave thisperk at nearly 100% uptimeas long as enemies are on-screen.
Hold the Line
Machine GunsandGlaiveshave fasterreload speedand higherstabilitywhile you’resurrounded. Anyfinal blowsthey gethealyou.
Thisperkisincredibly versatile. Foraggressivebuilds withMGs, you cansustain damage outputeven more easily.Defensive and offensive Glaivesetups become thecornerstone of a tanky playstyle.

With column four, we’re seeing thepower buildandsynergyappear. You’ll need tobe more mindfulof how youbuildyour classes with the three perks we’ve selected, butdo so,and you’ll be muchmore effective.
Reason for Ranking
Maligned Harvest
Rapidly applying Volatileto enemies allows thenext time you deal damageto create aweakening burst.
Ideally, aVolatilebuildshouldalwaysapply Volatileto enemies,eitherby using theVolatile Marksmanperk from the Artifact orsome other means. If that’s true, you should alsoalwaysbe weakening enemiesfor that extra damage.
Flashover
You becomeamplified at maximum Bolt Charge, and itslightningbolts dealmore damage.
As long as you’redealing with Arc damage, you’rebuilding Bolt Charge. If youbuildinto lots ofVoltshotand otherArc damage effects, thisperk ensuresyou’re alwaysamplified and dealing tons of damage.
Horde Shuttle
Damagingunraveledtargetssometimes spawnsaThreadling.
If you canapply Unraveling roundsto your weapon, you canspawn Threadlings, even if you don’t have access to Strand.Threadling builds are even betterwith this perk active, as well.
Best Tablet Of Ruin Column Five Perks
Column five perkswere once described asapproaching Exotic perklevels of power, and the Tablet of Ruin continues that trend. Thethree perksyou’llwant to focuson with the Tablet of Ruinare useful no matter whatyou’re doing.
Void Flux
Defeating weakened targetswith aVoid weaponmakesnearby enemies Volatile. Morepowerful enemies increase the explosionradius.
Pairedwith the other twoVolatile perks in the Tablet of Ruinand the baseVoid subclassabilities,this perkturns anyVoid weaponinto apowerhouse. VoidMachine Gunsget special mention here for theirsheer outputof Volatile explosions.
Heavy Ordinance Regeneration
Sustained damagewith aRocket LauncherorMachine Gungrantsdamage resistance,plus short-termgrenade and melee regeneration.
Ability spamis thename of the gamein Destiny 2, and any way to get those abilities back faster is welcome. BothRockets and MGs are fantastic damage dealers, which makes activating this perk a breeze.
Particle Reconstruction
Sustained damagewithLinear Fusion RiflesandFusion Riflespartiallyrefills the magazinefrom its reserves and grants abrief damage bonusagainst the target shot.
ThisperkeffectivelyturnsanyLinear or Fusioninto aFourth Time’s the Charm/Bait and Switchweapon on top of what it can already do. That combination wastheDPS metafor a long time for a reason.
