Summary
There are plenty of reasons vintage-themed custom content is popular inThe Sims 4. For some players, it’s simply part of their own aesthetic preferences. Other players are trying to complete a decades challenge, or are otherwise working on a historical-themed save file.
Whatever your reasons, it can be hard to find vintage-themed CC that’s both accurate and high-quality. Here’s a brief list of some of the best examples of both we’ve found while scouring the internet. From 90s nostalgia to chic mid-century furniture sets, the twentieth century never looked so fresh.

101940s Hair
The 1940s were an interesting time for women’s hairstyles. Longer hair was starting to become popular again after shorter cuts dominated the previous two decades. While most styles tended to be more practical, there was still a lot of experimentation when it came to aesthetics.
This trio of haircuts is based off fashion magazines of the era and provides you with some stylish coifs that are perfect for your vintage Sims. Our favorite is the ponytail with the curly top, but all three hairstyles are adorable and versatile enough to match almost any outfit.

9Azariah Jeans
Bell-bottoms were synonymous with the 1970s, and they’ve been shifting in and out of fashion ever since. You can pair them with pretty much any top to give an outfit a retro vibe, whether you’re creating a hippie or just an unassuming Sim-next-door type.
There are 20 swatches available for these jeans, meaning you’re able to coordinate just about any 70s-themed outfit your heart desires. The creator also has various recolors available for this mesh that they created after the initial pair of jeans, in case 20 swatches just weren’t enough.

8Bluebells Retro Mini Set
Dresses in the 1950s and early 1960s all tended to follow the same template. The A-line silhouette became synonymous with the fashion of the era. As with all outfits, however, it’s the accessories and little details that really bring the look together.
This is a simple outfit that comes with a delightful little sundress and a headscarf, which was popular as casual attire in the 1950s. Both items come in a variety of cheerfully colored swatches, so you can coordinate the perfect summer look no matter what life throws your way.

7Functional Typewriter
Building up your Writing skill in historical saves is a bit of a challenge. EA has a few official typewriters in various DLCs, but they all require power for some reason. This makes them inaccessibleto off-the-grid lots, which are common among simmers who want more historical accuracy.
While other CC typewriters have existed for The Sims 4 in the past, they tended to be buggy, or otherwise out of date with the latest patches. This one, however, is up-to-date, works off the grid, and is perfect for all your aspiring author Sims, no matter the era.

6Barb Suit
If you attempt to wear this suit in the modern day, you’ll probably look like your grandma (or any number of female politicians.) However, pantsuits like these were an indispensable part of a working woman’s wardrobe in the 70s and 80s. These might not have the shoulder pads we all know and love, but they make up for it in pure swagger.
Most of the swatches for this outfit are different types of plaid, which can be mixed or matched with different blouse colors. However, the purple swatches are great if you want to add a touch of whimsy to your wardrobe, especially if you go with the two-toned option.

5Wild And Stylish 80s
80s nostalgia is pretty much an eternal fixture in fashion nowadays, popping up every couple of years. Despite this, 80s hairstyles for your Sims are pretty hit or miss. The era was knownfor voluminous hairdosthat took unholy amounts of product to maintain, but it’s difficult to model these styles properly.
“Difficult” is not the same as “impossible”, however, and Aniraklova has a set of eight different ‘dos that are sure to turn heads. There are four masculine and four feminine styles available. You can practically smell the excessive amounts of hairspray emanating from your Sims with these hairstyles.

4Kitchen Of Tomorrow
Futurism was all the rage in the 1950s, with the advent of space travel and rapid advancements in tech exerting their influence on the decade’s aesthetics. The concept of the “world of tomorrow” gave rise to a visual style full of shiny chrome surfaces and spacey motifs.
This kitchen set would have been considered stylish and cutting-edge in the 1950s, even though it’s positively charming and nostalgic by today’s standards. It includes era-appropriate appliances and plenty of chrome countertops for all your cooking needs.
3Mid-Century Office Set
Maybe you need to build a workplace (ora swanky home office) for your decades challenge. More likely, you’ve just decided to binge Mad Men again and are feeling inspired. Whatever the circumstances, there’s a 1960s-themed office set with your name on it.
This is a fantastic set that contains everything the twentieth-century office needs, like a water cooler to congregate around and a desk for all your important business decisions. The sleek furniture captures the mid-century aesthetic perfectly while still being timeless enough to suit almost any style.
2Perfect Party Stuff
If pop culture is to be believed, the 1970s were a carefree era of good music, free love, and a lot of orange and brown. The real 1970s were a lot more mundane than that, but you can live the fantasy with this fabulous entertaining set from SurelySims and GildedGhosts.
All the furniture perfectly depicts the beigeness of the era, and the outfits are nothing short of stylish. The creators truly went the extra mile, however, by giving us a variety of different questionable party foods that are accurate to the time period. Sure, the champagne fountain is a nice touch, but the gelatin-based “salads” are the stuff of nightmares.
1Nostalgia Living Stuff Pack
If you grew up in the ’80s or ’90s, there’s certain things your baby boomer parents probably had around the house. It might be the floral-printed couch with a plastic covering, a stack of outdated magazines, a glass-top coffee table, or an old CRT television set.
Instead of the trendy, aspirational look of other “nostalgia” packs, this set is more down-to-earth with furniture the average person actually had in their home. True to its name, this set is sure to transport you back to your childhood memories. The real cherry on top is the functional Playstation that comes with the set.
