What We Know About The Game

The yet-to-be-revealed Star Wars tactics game is one of three projects Respawn is known to be involved with.As Insider Gaming noted, Respawn will produce the game, while the Greg Foerstch-led studio will head its development.

It was originally announced in January 2022, with Foerstch saying the deal came “out of the blue,“according to an IGN report. At the time, he added, the goal was to “blur the line between strategy and action,” while also using the “full potential” of a tactics game.

Despite layoffs two years later in 2024, Bit Reactor said the game was still in development. That same year,it was revealed that at least 15 members of the team were former Firaxis devs and veterans of XCOM. Finally,in January of this year, it was rumored that the game would be revealed during Star Wars Celebration, withSteam,XboxandPlayStationbeing the targeted platforms. Now, we know that Star Wars Celebration is indeed the place of reveal, and it won’t be too long before fans get a better idea of what to expect.
